I’ve had a chance to use this a few weeks now during early Spring. It was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. Issues so far: -It arrived missing the counter weight assembly (had to call Ryobi CS; should be shipping that part soon...). But seems to operate fine without it, perhaps since I’m only bagging light grass? -The lower tube doesn’t quite exactly fit over the opening of the chute. I have to brace it out slightly away from the machine while driving with my right hand to get it to sit just right so that it doesn’t leave a line of clipped grass, and even then there are still air gaps — it’s only held on by 2 rubber straps at odd angles. -The tube jams with grass (in the lower tube) constantly. This is in dry (re: 2 weeks without rain) or slightly damp grass (rained 2 days ago). Prob due if you let the air gaps get to big, there’s not enough suction and so just builds up until stuck. Running on high fan speed helps a bit, but drains your battery quickly. Also you’ll only notice the jam when you realized your deck is covered in grass and that you haven’t been picking up anything for the last few passes. You have to take apart the tube and dump it. - The top cover's rubber seals leave a slight air gap where it sits on the bags. If you are bagging really dry grass/dusty conditions, you’ll end up with your left shoulder covered in dirt due to how the tube air flow is angled. Jerry rig a few pieces of cardboard taped to the inside to keep my shoulders clean. - The small rubber strap that holds the 2 tubes together snapped on first use. CS says part ordering is pretty difficult since it’s a new line. I tie it together now with a copper wire. When it works though, it seems great. Not as if you have a choice if you already have the tractor. I’ve only used it with the provided bagging blades, so unsure if better/worse with the cross cut ones it comes with; haven’t been able to find any data about that or recommendations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Attaching the chute to the mower deck is strenuous for your hand and it requires a tool with a hook on it to stretch out the rubber straps with the clips. The lower end of the Chute too narrow and clogs easily. Possibly enlarging the opening on the lower deck and making a wider chute orifice on the lower tube might be a consideration. Hopefully that would still give you enough suction to help bring the clippings up into the bags. I have heard there are also blowers or fans that can keep a constant tube suction to help prevent clogging from occurring. I enjoy my 46” cut tractor; I just would not like to encounter these constant frustrations.

Clogs frequently in short dry grass
Mower clogs continuously in short dry grass. RYOBI sent me a replacement but same result. Doesn’t create enough negative pressure to force the clippings up the chute. Mower works fine with mulch blades, but was hoping to use this for leaves, mower is useless in the fall.
