I purchased this to expand a few garden beds. After completing a few feet of a few, it seemed to work well. However, after using it a second time, the shaft to the trimmer started to snap where the attachment connects to it. I was pretty happy with the trimmer itself, but it's not completely broken thanks to this attachment.

      Great Too.
I bought this addition early this spring and have only used it a couple of times at this point. BUT it totally does the job. It's very solid and really breaks up the dirt. The photos I've added are from this last weekend. It's about an 8' x 8' flower bed hadn't been tilled/cultivated in years. It took me about an hour in total. Yep, arms were a little tired by the end but not too bad. No issues at all with a 4ah battery If you're on the fence about purchasing one, just do it.

        Tine was assembled wrong
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I resonate with Tolk...my cultivator tines were not lined up as in the pictures on the website. Our cultivator was caught by grass and dirt every few minutes. I speculate it was due to the tines not assembled correctly. I tried the regular pattern and the rocky pattern, both looked like the tines were not symatrical.

Can’t handle any type of clay soil
While the idea of a tiller attachment is appealing, especially when working with raised beds, this one simply cannot get the job done when clay soil is involved. Barely able to get it to dig beyond an inch into the soil. Additionally the attachment will not stay in-place but will in use but will continually twist and disconnect no matter how hard you try to keep it attached. While several other attachments fir this trimmer are nice, do yourself a favor and skip this one and get an actual standalone roller.

            simply amazing!!!
I have a small area in my yard that was tilled up earlier this season. I wanted to be able to turn the dirt over as it had settled. I did it once by hand and it took 2 days because I got tired and would have to stop. I saw this and decided to get it a try. I bought the brushless weed eater for 199.00 and bought this attachment to go with it. So I got two tools for 300.00, I think that's a pretty good deal. Then I put it together and tried it out. Oh my goodness!! This thing is amazing! I thought it might help some but it turned all over it over in no time. It did an amazing job, I was really surprised. This thing is very tough. I thought it would be good for a light jobs but it really surprised me. If you're even thinking about getting this, you should. I'm so glad I bought this!

Another great One+ tool. I have a raised garden (3 4x4 sections) I have been planting for years. Was using a corded Cultivator which was a pain to move around. It got the job done but was a little big for my garden. Having owned Ryobi one+ tools for a long time (I have a lot of them), I thought I would give this a try. As with all the other expand-it attachments it connects easily. It is heavy duty, with very strong tines, narrower than my other tiller, (but wide enough for most jobs), so it gets in the bed easier and no cord makes the job much better. Note that when attach to the expand-it unit along with a 9-amp battery it is a little heavy moving around, but not that much of a problem once you get going. After tilling all 3 sections I still had a lot of run time remaining. I also used it to break up some ground (rocky!!) to fix a broken irrigation line and add another sprinkler head. It sure made the job easy. Nothing wrong with my corded tiller but I will be finding a new home for it as I am sold on this Ryobi attachment.

I’ve put this through good use over a 2 month period with my most recent project being a 20’x20’ plot on grass. It easily tore through the grass. I scalped it with a lawnmower to make it easier. I have other Ryobi products and have 3 additional 40v batteries which helped on that. It does not drain the battery quickly and, if the ground is workable (no grass or weeds), you can do a lot with a single charge. Once the grass was removed, I cultivated the 20’x20’ area and still had charge left. This tends to pull you, so it will wear you out with prolonged use. I highly recommend it for the average user. One of the pics is upside down. I’m not sure how to rotate it. Just do a handstand if possible

Hope it lasts as good as it works
If you have a gas power headed tool, like I have ,this little gem is awesome for suburban work. Flower beds, small gardens and on and on. I wouldn't want to do 5 acres with it but man what a time saver. I don't think I would attach it to an electric weed wacker I have a 26 cc power head and it runs it easily. It is on the heavy side but not so bad you can't carry it. I take the times off and it lightens it considerably. I have hot and cold luck with Ryobi stuff this is a good product for them, in my experience.

                  Gets the job done
Bought this over the weekend to till up some existing dirt in a couple of 4x4 garden beds. Assembly was straight forward, although I was not impressed with the J hook handle and how loose it was on my Ryobi 2 cycle weed eater. I added some gaffer tape to the shaft to increase friction and keep it from sliding around, but the plastic butterfly wingnut stripped out as I was trying to get it tight. Once I got everything on it worked well. Definitely heavy on the front end, but not too bad with a shoulder strap. Tilled up each 4x4' bed in about 2-3 minutes each. Overall pleased with the product and hope it continues to serve well as time goes on.
