Hello robyn, thank you for your question. The RYOBI Metal Buffing Kit (7-Piece) works best with a full size drill/driver. - Justin

Great on my marble!

I was reluctant to use this on my 25 year-old neglected marble since it was recommended for metal but it worked great. The pads do shed but not enough to pose a problem or compromise effectiveness. The smaller pads shed more than the largest one, likely due to faster rotation. That said, the smaller ones seemed to be more effective for my use. One corner of the marble bathroom counter top was mostly white with almost no marbling. The more I buffed, the more the patterns were revealed. It had been so long since I'd seen the pattern, it was a surprise and a delight. I initially omitted the polishing compound because I had already sanded, sealed and applied a polish. Out of curiosity I inspected one of the sticks and it felt like a transparent crayon so I tried applying it directly to the etched areas. I also applied it to the pad as directed and found it very effective at filling the porosities and making them shine. I don't know how well this kit works on autos but will always use it on my marble.

As a first time user, I found the small single sewn wheel difficult to keep on task. Less expensive than a formal buffer for the job I had.
