Out of the box Honest Review
I have been wanting a leaf blower for some time. The thought of a rechargeable battery was appealing. I got onboard with the Ryobi 18v power tools. Having said that, I already had two 18v batteries ready to go from the start. I headed outside to see how it worked. Right off, I appreciated the weight and handling. It seems to be properly balanced. At this time, my yard has dry leaves, so I have not tested it's effectiveness on damp leaves. I was also pleased with the power and force in which it worked. About half way through the enclosed picture, the first battery died. Then I stopped when the second battery died as well. These were fully charged and only used twice before batteries. I am not mad about it though. I knew it would be an issue going in. If I wanted full service , I should get a gas one and I can get it all in one shot. Instead, I think that they focus too much on the power and strength , without considering the power supply. It simply draws too much power to be in the 18v category. It might be better served in the 40v 4ah class. That is what my mower has. I did buy this as the tool only. If I had bought the version with two more batteries and a charger, I would've been upset about the cost and performance.As long as you are not expecting perfection, you should be reasonably happy. Plan ahead for larger jobs though.

Blower Fan Disintegrated - waste of money
Not long after purchase several of the fan blades broke free from the inner turbine. Since the turbine was rotating very fast the broken pieces destroyed the remaining fan blades. Now the fan spins but there is nothing left to push air out of the blower. All this happened inside the fan area. NOTHING external could have damaged the fan blades as they are all inside the protected area of the turbine. This HAS to be just poor quality of manufacturing. Ryobi products are usually better than this.

Broke
Into my third year of owning this blower and some internal plastic fan blades broke off today. The blower was used to blow lawn trimmings from mowing and edging off the sidewalk and driveway once a week during mowing season. I never worked it hard and it still breaks. The blower will have to be trashed as the unsteady fan now badly vibrates the whole blower.

No hold Battery & Cheap Parts
I purchased this blower, allowed a full charge and it barely lasted to blow my front yard. The part that tightens and holds the hand in place broke off the same day. This was the first od two blowers that I purchased within two days. The second was the RYOBIONE+ 18V 90 MPH 200 CFM Cordless Battery Leaf Blower/Sweeper with 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger. Exact same issue...I'm done with Ryobi!

Very good for the money!
I've had mine for 1 season. My yard is small. Usually use it twice a week for lawn and trimming. Use much more during leaf season. Near end of 1st year August. One fin on the fan just broke off. It blew out of the tube. Will need to crazy glue it. Time will tell how long it will last. So I bought the exact same make and model. Now I have 2. Good luck with yours. I love the power mine delivers.

Propeller fins broke off
Was working fine for the first two years. While using the plastic propeller fins broke off and scattered everywhere, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES while using this unit. Disappointed that it broke after such a short time.

First few months were great
Basically, it's a turbine fan moving the air and if it's not perfectly balanced it will make a ton of noise which it does within weeks, hurts my ears to use it. Called Ryobi Canada and could not get a hold of them. Took it back to Home Depot and they wanted a receipt. Who keeps a receipt? I have 30 Ryobi tools, the box and receipt get dumped after using it for 3-4 times. Don't waste your money, and if you do, keep the receipt ;)

Battery life 10 minutes
I run the leaf blower for about 20 minutes and the lights go down to 2 lights and run dead within 30 minutes , using the turbo button here and there within that 30 minutes. I will buy a gas powered tool next time

Bad fan blades
