Does it come with a grass collection bag, or does it have to be purchased separately? Also, what does one cost?

Answer This Question

Yes the bag comes with it, cannot remember what I paid for it. Don't think it was more than $300

By|Mar 2, 2022

Yes, mine came with a clippings collection bag.

    By|Feb 28, 2022

yes it comes with the grass bag, pay only once. I bought it almost 2 years ago, about $300. This type uses batteries, when the battery runs out, it can be charged, it is also light but the sound is not noisy.

      By|Feb 28, 2022

The grass collection bag is included.

no. and trust me, you're gonna need ALL the batteries possible! i've poured more money into batteries than i care to count because of this mower.

                By|Mar 1, 2022

You have to make sure they’re the bigger batteries. I have some of the smaller ones that came with drills and impact wrench, and they only last about 5-10 minutes.

                  By|Feb 25, 2022

They often have version available that do not include batteries/charger. Look for "tool Only" in the description. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-HP-18V-Brushless-16-in-Cordless-Battery-Walk-Behind-Push-Lawn-Mower-Tool-Only-P1109BTLVNM/315114456?MERCH=REC-_-searchViewed-_-NA-_-315114456-_-N&

Why is this one more expensive than the other 16" /18vt. With 2 4Amp batteries?

A lot of adds do not include batteries. All I can say is mine is worth the money.

                        By|Feb 23, 2022

Because the more expensive one has the ability to plug in to an extension cord. The least expensive one does not.

Will the mower accept 6ah batteries?

It depends upon the battery. I have seen some that do, some that don't. The ones that are essentially the same size as the 5ah batteries it came with do work, and I have one (Model #OP4060A purchased in local store) that I use with it. I don't think the jumbo sized 6ah or bigger batteries would work.

I don't think so. One of the batteries overlaps on top of the other, and there's a tiny space between them, so the dimensions of a 6Ah battery wouldn't allow to use them. You may use the 6Ah as the battery on the top, but same type is recommended.

                                    By|Sep 10, 2021

It will only accept one 6ah battery and one 4ah battery, put the 4ah battery in first then the 6ah battery second the cover won't close all the way but that's not a problem.

                                      By|Sep 10, 2021

Only 1 6ah battery will fit with another 4ah battery, as the batteries are too tall for 2 6ah to fit in the battery holding chamber.

What’s the difference in performance between this and the 16”, single-18v-battery mower? Does it just have longer run time or more power as well?

                                            Answer This Question

Based on my use of the P1102 hybrid 16" mower, the previous answer is incorrect, in the both batteries ARE used at the same time. 20 minutes of mowing takes both installed 4AH batteries from full charge down to 3 bars. The same time with a single battery installed bring it down to 2 bars. The added battery extends the run time, but also discharges the batteries more slowly, so they don't get as hot, which should extend their working life. In using a hybrid on a larger lawn, I use the batteries on the fringes that can't be reached with a 100' cord. Since it only draws 7 amps on the cord, a 2 prong 16 gauge work perfectly with being heavy to drag.

                                            By|Aug 15, 2021

Ryobi does not give out much information on the motors, but I would suspect that both the single battery and double battery versions have the same 18v motor. The dual battery motors connect the batteries in parallel which can give you a longer run time, but they still are only 18v motors. You should get the same quality cut on either the single or dual battery 16 inch mowers as there should be no difference in the power of the motor.

This has been my problem right along.  The battery I have DOES NOT GIVE POWER To keep a charge longer than 15 minutes. I’ve been asking for a replacement battery,  With no results.

ElectrifyAllTheThings, thank you for your interest in the RYOBI ONE+ 18V 16 in. Cordless Battery Walk Behind Push Lawn Mower - (2) 4.0 Ah Batteries & Charger. Neither of these mowers will use both batteries at the same time. These will only run on one battery at a time. The runtime is indicated by the battery size and not the mower itself. A larger battery will run longer than a smaller one. Does this mower cut while being pulled backwards? I have a narrow section to cut and I’m afraid there won’t be enough space to turn it around.

Yes, the blade will continue to spin as long as the handle levers remain pulled, and the spinning blade will continue to cut grass when pulled in reverse. The flap on the rear though may impede the cutting effectiveness if it rolls under the mower though, so you will want to be aware of that. I don't think you'll find a modern mower that doesn't include this safety feature though.

ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Battery Walk Behind Push Lawn Mower Two 4.0Ah Batteries/Charger Included P1111. This mower does not exclude any type of grass and is only limited to not cutting tall overgrown weeds or overgrowth. As with any variety of grass you may have to make a 2nd pass to get the desired cut for St. Augustine grass. I hope this helps and thanks for reaching out to us! - Eve If you feel you need further assistance with this question, please contact RYOBI Customer Support at 1-800-860-4050 and follow the prompts to reach a Lawn and Garden Technical Support Representative. - Eve

I don't notice much difference between this Ryobi 18v mower and my gas mower when it comes to cutting long, thick grass. Both mowers will bog down and stall if you go too fast or try to cut too low if the lawn is overgrown. For long, thick grass, I usually first mow at a high setting, then lower the deck for a final cut. Yes, that's twice the work but if you let your lawn get overgrown, you will have to pay for it. I don't specifically have St. Augustine grass, but I do use my Ryobi 18v mower in some patches of long, thick grass down by a creek that passes through my property. If you have a small to medium lawn, this 16 inch 18v mower may be a good option for you. I would recommend trying it out and if you are not happy with the results, take advantage of HD's hassle-free return policy. Ryobi also makes 40v mowers which are more powerful, but I find my 18v mower is all I need for my lawn care.

This is a very small light weight mower. I use it for trimming around landscaping and for cut a ditch that is too steep for a riding lawnmower. It is perfect for that. Do not expect it to cut high thick grass, or a full yard unless it is very tiny. If you yard is bigger than 200 sq ft I would recommend getting the 40 volt version.

Every about 15- 20 min I had to swap for a new one. And they these batteries are chunky to carry around with you so we’ve hanged it for 40V/20” mower and looking forward to test it. This 18V one is perfect for Brooklyn brown-stones’ front mini yard at the best!

Could not just buy the lawnmower online that item was sold out but the the same mower with 2 batteries and more money was still in stock. Clever I suppose but I already have like 10 batteries. My 2 biggest complaints are that not one homedepot for 150 miles had this instore but every store had like 30 40v in 2 options. Thats not doing your 18v customers a good service...second I feel the arms where they fold came in the box either parley designed or missing what I would assume rubber soacers because it would not stay upright at all even in locked position it comes unlocked with slightest push. I fabricated 2 approx 3 inch circles one inch think out if cardboard and she locks down real tight now. But as far as fuction im very surprised in the life of one cut on it and seems to do and operate better than anticipated. The mower dose not mulch very good at all but with the bagger on works great. Ryobi should sell this in stores id recommend i have like 12 tools and 10 batteries 18v not one 40v tool. The fact i had to online still makes me frustrated as a customer and supporter of both your store and tools. Do things smarter not harder for the working men and woman that is all.

Our yard was pretty over grown and it went through and cleaned it up allot I have to weed eat in the pictures but you can get pretty close to the edges and the batteries lasted the whole time four out yard about .17

I have been using it for a year now and it is just as good now as it was when I first took it out of the box. It starts up quickly and the 2 batteries that are included cut my entire yard as well as last long enough to blow the yard and edge the lawn. The mulching option is great and the bag lasts a lot longer than expected especially looking at the size. It is very easy to lower and raise the mower with a single lever to move it up and down. The foldable handle makes it easy to store as shown in the picture. It is nice and quiet as well. I highly recommend this mower.

I like that the battery compartment now accommodates my 6AH batteries. To simply grab the same batteries as I use for my Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt drills, saws, and other ONE+ tools, to use in my mower is so convenient, I cannot express the extent of my appreciation to Ryobi Tools. This mower has plenty of power to do mow my lawn, although if long and/or wet, it can get logged down. When lugged down I simply step it back and proceed. However, mowing at regular intervals keeps the mowing smooth and satisfying. I trim the edges of my lawn with my Ryobi ONE+ trimmer first so the trimmings are then picked-up by my Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Walk Behind Lawn Mower. Assuming the same undercarriage design as my earlier model it should not collect much build-up of grass on the inside. I had not looked under my previous mower until buying this one. I was surprised at how little had accumulated on the walls. There was such a thin layer I would have needed a scrub brush to even attempt to remove any, I did not bother. I don't have to go get gas. I don't have to deal with keeping a cord out of the way of the mowing. I only need to grab two batteries off my Ryobi ONE+ Supercharger.

I really like how it has a feature where you need a key to operate the mower, that's a great safety feature. Good on you, Ryobi, for thinking ahead. Also, the adjustment handle's ease of use is perfect. The product came packaged in such a way that putting it together and knowing what does what and what goes where is intuitive. Getting such a huge product out of a box is always a concern for me because I'm always worried something might be missing or I might of put something in the wrong place but this came mostly assembled. The mower also has a handle on what I'd call its thorax if it were a bug, that makes it easy to move around the garage. Ryobi support is also first class. I just got it recently and it is performing just as good as I imagined. Does it meet my expectations, absolutely.

I was a little nervous about battery life after reading some of the reviews here, so when it shut down after only about five minutes I was ready to pack it up and return it. I opened the battery cover and noticed that little red key was not pushed in all the way and had jiggled loose. I pushed it in, started it back up,, and there was more than enough juice to get the job done! After finishing the indicator on the batteries still showed three bars, so I probably could three more mows out of them.
