Impressive!
I picked up the cordless 3gal wet/dry vac because I was tired of being inconvenienced when I needed to clean up and had to be bound by a cord. I've used this vac to clean up a wet laundry room, to clean a broken sandbag in the trunk of my wife's car, to clean up paint chips outdoors after a big job, and many more. This vac is powerful, has great runtime on a 2Ah battery, comes with two useful attachments, and is exactly what I knew I needed for portability. Love it.

    Tool Be Gone
Check your vac before emptying. This vac ingests sockets, fasteners, and even a small screwdriver- it was oriented the right way. It does suck that I am now forced to clean up, before I clean up.Seriously, the Ryobi vac is well built and very powerful. It does eat through batteries quickly, but that is to be expected. One minor gripe is that the hose is on the short side. Overall, this has been a great addition to my Ryobi Cordless arsenal.

Really good little vacuum. Pictures show what it looks like with a 4ah battery. I use the HP batteries and the run time is pretty good. It's not a brushed motor, so it definitely drains batteries compared to a vacuum which is brushless. I'm very happy with the power, it picks up stuff very well. The hose can be plugged into the fan and work as a small blower (see picture). It's size is perfect, 2 gallons is a lot of capacity and it's very easy to handle, not heavy at all. It is very loud, the motor is high pitched, so it's not easy on the ears. The hose is good quality, but give how small the vacuum is, it will drag it around rather than stretch. You really have to hold the vacuum when using it.

Good little sucker but needs design changes
The size and suction of this vacuum are very good, as it makes it portable and useful for cleaning in tight spots. However, since you can’t put a dust bag inside, it clogs the filter regularly, and reduces suction considerably. The basic attachments are good but regularly fall out of the cheaply manufactured clips, which are entirely inadequate for the daily bump and grind of work. The bayonet connector for the hose has already broken off one the locking tabs, so the hose keeps pulling out with very slight effort, and the locking tab on the handle to keep it upright also snapped off within minutes, so the handle flops back down and can’t be kept vertical. Why is it that the consumer versions of tools are made so cheaply vs their professional counterparts?

        Guaranteed to break repeatedly
I have over a dozen Ryobi 18v tools. Until now I have been very satisfied but this vacuum disappoints with a serious design flaw. The nozzle attachments fit into clips on the front and side of the housing. After using this a few times the clips will fall off of the housing because they snap onto a smaller clip built into the housing. This smaller clip should have been made of metal but instead it was made of plastic which will break pretty quickly. Ryobi will stand behind it if you want to keep on shipping it to a service center for the next three years every time they break but in that case you need to buy another different type of vacuum so you have one to use while this one is in the shop. Because of the serious design flaw you cannot replace the part yourself. As more customers discover this flaw I expect Ryobi will have to redesign this vaccum so I would wait for the next model.

This is the second one I’m buying. Mostly used in my stained glass business during removal and installation. It is light weight and powerful. Small enough to carry up ladders and scaffolding. I also use it in the shop especially vacuuming out saws etc that are used on a daily basis. With a bevy of various ryobi batteries I just want an extra one specifically for the shop. Whether it’s the production room or glass room office or painting room. It’s nice to have this extra one close by. I have and use almost every Ryobi tool between glass and my grove. Thanks Ryobi for useful products. This is from a really old woman who still works every day.

I used this only a few times before it died for a total of less than an hour runtime. I got it in November 2019, and it was dead by January 2020. It was really handy for cleaning out the car with a 4Ah battery pack and cleaning places in the house that are annoying to bring the real shop vac into. The hose fits all my small Ridgid car cleaning attachments, which is nice too. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this vacuum. We'll start with the minor reasons: - It's pretty bulky to hold and vacuum with, and the hose is too short to set it down and vacuum in tighter spaces (due to the bulky shape/size of the vacuum). - You can never truly clean out the vacuum body because of the lip -- you need to vacuum it out! - The hose holster does not account for hose stretch, and even though I've used mine only a few times, my hose no longer fits as nicely as it did when I first got the vacuum. The worst part is its durability. It broke after a few uses -- it just beeps when you turn it on and dies immediately. I tried batteries from small to 9Ah to no avail. It appears to have melted the plastic under the filter cage/intake. I called Ryobi, and they wanted me to take it to Home Depot's Tool Rental for repair. This was back in February, and the lines have been terrible there since the coronavirus outbreak, so I have not had success in five trips to HD over the last few months. Today, I finally caught Home Depot at a quiet time and made it to the rental center, only to find out that they do not service wet/dry vacuums. However, one of the associates said he could do a return for me, even though it's out of the 90 day HD return policy. Thank you Ish at Everett! After three months of a broken vac, I am FINALLY free. I had a great experience dealing with Ryobi support for my tire inflator that was defective (mailed a new one in two weeks), but the vacuum team needs to improve. Just send a new one or credit back because this thing is not serviceable.

            My most-used Ryobi - with a small add-on
I've had this vac for many months now and increasingly love it! It packs enough suction for the small and moderate dry and some wet tasks that I have. It's easy to carry around in the house or outdoors, and far exceeds a little handheld vac, since this has a lovely, agile hose with the two nozzles. With a 4aH battery it readily lets me clean out my family van and car. My wife does get a tad upset because it has a rather high pitched whine. Now here's what I did to make up for one shortcoming that others have also mentioned - the lack of an extension pipe. Check out my attached picture. I 'copied' the crevice tool clamps with 2 pieces cut of ABS plumbing, heated, bent and screwed them onto the angled top of the vac, at the side where the hose runs. Trimmed one of my deceased ShopVac extension pipes to length, and now have that permanently with the vac. That gets me off my knees for numerous jobs and just gives a nicer reach in general. I'm SUPER pleased with that add-on. Okay Ryobi engineers, you can do it for your next model - you've done superbly so far!

First off, I switched from using the similar Ridgid vacuum after it stopped working due to faulty wiring. It would randomly stop working and I would have to shake it to get it to start again. So I am happy with the overall build quality of the Ryobi vacuum. It actually turns on when I hit the on switch. I have used it with a 4 amp hr battery and only about 15 minutes per use. The battery has lasted the full duration. The suction power is pretty good but could be a little better. I used it on carpeted stairs and had to go over the same area a few times to pick up small things. So I give it +1 star for quality and +1 star for battery life. I’m giving it -3 stars because the attachments keep falling off when using. COME ON MAN! Why didn’t they add some kind of threaded screw on lock or a slot and pin or something? You literally have to hold the attachment onto the hose while using to keep it from falling off. This is a MAJOR annoyance. I bought this thing to make my life easier not to make it more difficult. I would not recommend this product.
