Poorly Built
Worked great for 2-3mos or 8-10 uses.
The blade guard ended up separating from the plastic motor housing and the product is no longer usable. The blade/guard is held to the motor housing with plastic screw guides that sheared off, which I believe is a massive weak point & fatal design flaw.
Ryobi support has been extrememly slow to respond and after about a month of back & fourth, their answer is to either take it to a service center an hour and a half away or ship it to them at my expense.

trash battery
The edger it self is fine. It will do the job it is intended, but it is weak. Do not spend the extra money for the battery and charger. The battery is trash. Can’t get but about 15 to 20 mins. It’s not worth money what a rip off. I do own the 40volt string trimmer and many of the attachments. If you have started the collection just get the edger attachment. Do not wast your money on the trash 18volt tools.

A great way to improve the run time of the edger, as well as all your ONE+ products, is by adding larger amp-hour (ah) batteries to your collection. The larger batteries will provide more run time, and since they're compatible with all our ONE+ products, you can swap them in and out to get even more run time. This edger does the job without the cord or gasoline. The problem is that it eats batteries. If you are not willing to buy multiple 4 amp batteries you won’t be happy. I love this tool because the benefits outweigh the the additional costs for the batteries.

Cool tool

Easy to Use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a new Ryobi 18v cordless edger (model P2300) for doing the curb street side. I've had an old one that worked for a few years and finally died so I bought the new edger with battery and charger. Even though both are 18v, the new one has more power. As a bonus the new one has a front and back wheel for easier use where the old one only had the back wheel. This new one is easier to adjust for depth and easier to handle. Hope it last as long if not longer than my old one.

I'm really loving this edger. All my other tools...
I'm really loving this edger. All my other tools are Ryobi so being able to swap the battery is great. It is a battery powered edger so I obviously wasn't expecting something super powerful but I am only using it at home. If I was running a lawn maintenance business I would probably want something else but this is more than enough for my home use and my lawn is looking great.

Back saver!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great addition to my RYOBI tools! I used to use my weed eater to trim my 120 ft driveway and it was tough on my back and took forever to complete. With my 18 volt battery edger it takes a little over one battery and soo much easier on my old body!

Outstanding Performance!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from a corded edger and I am very pleased. No having to deal with the cord saves me a lot of time. Performance wise, I really like this edger. It does a very good job in a short amount of time. The saw tooth blade does a great job of cutting through my thought St. Augustine grass. I made sure to get the 4.0 Ah 2-pack batteries with the free One+ tool. I have a lot of edging and I had zero issues with either the edger or the battery. So happy I bought this!
