We have used the cultivator in out green house. My son was using a manual cultivator to work up the ground along the long side of the greenhouse so he could some vegetables to grow in the winter. When he tried the Ryobi battery cultivator, he said that was a ton easier. I am 73 and it is the machine that helps me with the cultivating. I have several cordless Ryobi tools that I love using. This cultivator is as good as my other Ryobi tools.

Not well made...
I guess it's made for super light work in already tilled dirt. I bought this last year and did ok for tilling between rows and other simple tasks. But this spring I was using it for simple tilling, I already pulled the vegetation and had turned the ground. I got about 1/2 way through my small garden and it snapped. That's $100 I'll never see again.....

Great for small gardens
I assembled this cultivator quickly and easily, without the use of directions. I charged the lith ion battery (about 45 minutes) and put it to work on a small garden plot in my yard that was overrun with weeds. The cultivator worked well and was comfortable to handle. It removed the weeds and broke up the soil down to about 6 inches. After running it over the plot several times, it left the dirt finely broken up and ready for planting. Running at full speed, the battery lasted about 15 minutes, which was all I needed. The cultivator worked well for this fairly small application, but I wouldn’t recommend it for larger gardens or where the soil is severely compacted.

Wonderfull Product
I have been dreaming of having this type of cultivator for as long as I have had my garden. I never thought this dream would come true. The shipping came to me in 1 day via Fedex. Really fast. As soon as it came I took everything out of the box. Then I put the Lithium Ion battery on charge. Both were included. Then I put on the handle. Easy. I had trouble with pulling the hitch pins that hold the 2 cultivator tines and needed help taking them off the protective cardboard shield and putting them back on with the tines. Then we went out to the garden for a test run. They plowed through the dirt so well. It will make my season of planting and weeding so much easier.

Used for years and still working great!
We have had this cultivator for several years now. I use it every time I prepare or clean out a garden bed. We live in FL, so our ground isn't too tough, but this has been a lifesaver. We'll made and super useful. If you are on the fence...definitely get it!

The handle to push down broke off only after I used it a few times. I tried to get a new one from Home Depot. They said they don't sell replacement parts. I tried to order on Ryobi web site and they only deal with Home Depot and don't sell parts. I have a new cultivator and cant use it because f the broken handle. A poor set up. now I have to buy a new cultivator just for the handle.

This item seems to be out of stock everywhere. I bought mine when it was first released - and LOVE it. For small yards, gardens, beds, or narrow areas, it is a one of a kind, ideal solution. It is easy to use, powerful and well-built. I've only used mine with the 4AHR battery. It never bogs down, kicks hard nor fails to operate. For small area tilling and cultivation it is an ideal, one of kind tool that I recommend highly.
