Compact easy to use and great price for quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picked up this tool to level a sub floor for lvp. I cannot stress how well this sander works. Eats through batteries so keep the 4ampers charged. Get work done at a fraction of the cost of Milwaukee which is owned by same company as the makers of ryobi.

doesnt hold up
I bought this because i dont use corded tools other than a belt sander and a tale saw and i saw this and it was the first and only cordless belt sander id seen and as a remodeling contractor we use them to knock down sheens and shave off exisiting textures to mud over them but after less than 200 square feet of wall and light use just putting the sander on the wall and letting it do the work no leaning into it nothing i went to put in a fresh battery and it didnt respond so i tried again and it sputtered a bit but then nothing. After 20 minutes of use its dead. I know ryobi tools are diyer grade junk but this is pathetic. Avoid it at all costs

Powerful punch
Bought this to use on projects I do in my workshop - primarily with repurposed wood. Being able to sand down the wood to give it a smooth finish is a lot better with the belt sander than having to do it by hand.

Almost great
Been using for a while and it works very nice. Only reason for the 4 rating is I was not happy with the dust port. Don't like using the dust bags that come with these types of tools and with this one I could not hook up a vac without a modification. After taking a 1 inch 45 degree pvc elbow and applying a little heat I now can hook up the vac. Wish Ryobi had taken this into consideration with their design, other than that it nice to lose the cord.

Dust port hack
I own most of the Ryobi one+ tools. They all work great and being cordless makes them even greater. Having said that the recent purchase of the one+ sander (3in x 18in) left me scratching my head. I never use the supplied dusk bags that come with the tools and prefer using my vac. The way that they have positioned the duct port does not leave room to attach a hose. And being a left-hander using the bag gets in the way of sanding. The fix was easy enough, but I wish Ryobi would the design to make it adaptable for a vac hose. To fix it I purchased a 1in 45-degree elbow. Of course, that was too small for the dust port and too large for the vac hose. Out comes the heat gun. Heated up the elbow enough to slip in on the dust port and waited for it to cool. Then heated up the other end and compressed it to fit the vac hose. Now I can hook up the vac and it keeps it out of the way of my “left” hand trigger use. So there it is, my fix to what I consider a design flaw, and I recommend it for anyone who want to attach a vac hose.

Broke on first use
The tracking adjustment screw stripped out on first use. Unfortunately I bought this a year ago with cash. Without a receipt HD customer service tells me I am out of luck.

Light weight, and easy to use. There is no worry about a cord when working in different situations. Typical battery life, does not bog easy, and fairly powerful.
