doesnt hold up
I bought this because i dont use corded tools other than a belt sander and a tale saw and i saw this and it was the first and only cordless belt sander id seen and as a remodeling contractor we use them to knock down sheens and shave off exisiting textures to mud over them but after less than 200 square feet of wall and light use just putting the sander on the wall and letting it do the work no leaning into it nothing i went to put in a fresh battery and it didnt respond so i tried again and it sputtered a bit but then nothing. After 20 minutes of use its dead. I know ryobi tools are diyer grade junk but this is pathetic. Avoid it at all costs

    Powerful punch
Bought this to use on projects I do in my workshop - primarily with repurposed wood. Being able to sand down the wood to give it a smooth finish is a lot better with the belt sander than having to do it by hand.

    Portability easy to use
Purchased this a while ago and I love it I’ve been trying to get rid of all of my tools that you have to plug into the wall hard to find outlets with this I don’t need an outlet all I need is a battery I love it thank you Ryobi

    Almost great
Been using for a while and it works very nice. Only reason for the 4 rating is I was not happy with the dust port. Don't like using the dust bags that come with these types of tools and with this one I could not hook up a vac without a modification. After taking a 1 inch 45 degree pvc elbow and applying a little heat I now can hook up the vac. Wish Ryobi had taken this into consideration with their design, other than that it nice to lose the cord.

    Dust port hack
I own most of the Ryobi one+ tools. They all work great and being cordless makes them even greater. Having said that the recent purchase of the one+ sander (3in x 18in) left me scratching my head. I never use the supplied dusk bags that come with the tools and prefer using my vac. The way that they have positioned the duct port does not leave room to attach a hose. And being a left-hander using the bag gets in the way of sanding. The fix was easy enough, but I wish Ryobi would the design to make it adaptable for a vac hose. To fix it I purchased a 1in 45-degree elbow. Of course, that was too small for the dust port and too large for the vac hose. Out comes the heat gun. Heated up the elbow enough to slip in on the dust port and waited for it to cool. Then heated up the other end and compressed it to fit the vac hose. Now I can hook up the vac and it keeps it out of the way of my “left” hand trigger use. So there it is, my fix to what I consider a design flaw, and I recommend it for anyone who want to attach a vac hose.

      Broke on first use
The tracking adjustment screw stripped out on first use. Unfortunately I bought this a year ago with cash. Without a receipt HD customer service tells me I am out of luck.

        Crown Jewel of My Tools!
I buy tools and use them (see picture to see a sample of what is in my shop; doesn’t include my work trailer). I expect tools to perform well and hold up under hard use. However, the Ryobi Brushless Sander exceeded my expectations so much that I want to give a shoutout for it. I have several sanders but this is the best by far. It is lightweight, easy to manage, and most importantly does a great job of sanding even treated wood. This is one tool that has earned a permanent place in my workshop!

        Just what I need
I have this belt sander for about 3 months and I’m glad I go it, so easy to use from the moment you get it out of the box. I have done at least 50 signs ( that’s what I make) and still long like the first day, no cord great power man I can’t explain how good this one is, I wish it came with a bag for storage but that’s ok.

Works great, but tough on batteries
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm building a wood backsplash for my workbench in the garage. It's about 3 feet high by 25 feet long. The sander works great at knocking down the wood to level, but this project is just too big for a cordless sander. I've got all Lithium+ batteries, both the slim and extended versions. But, this thing just takes a lot of juice. I ended up buying a corded sander, but kept the cordless, because it will be helpful in the future. The cordless one is just as powerful as the corded version. In fact, I'm sure on normal size projects, I'll just grab the cordless. The corded one will probably go in a cabinet for that rainy day I do another large project.
