This Router has Made All my other Routers obsolete
This router was a great surprise. I have several Ryobi 18V tools and a number of batteries, so I decided to give this a try. I was not disappointed in fact I was surprised at what a great little tool this is. I have yet to find a project this will not work for. My other routers and router table have not been used since I bought this. The power is amazing, along with the run time. I have been using it to cut circles for clock frames and I can cut several circles with a single charge. When cutting circles it is important to make several passes. For 3/4" MDF I make about 5 passes. I also use it to round over the frame and rabbit out the inside for the glass and lights. It far exceeds my expectations for this. Another plus is the fact that I do not have a cord in the way. I designed and 3D printed a dust port that really helps keep things clean and dust free. I also use it to cut the clock face from hardboard. Not that it needs it, but would buy instantly if brought out in brushless version. I love the quick depth adjustment, takes just seconds to adjust. The run time is truly amazing. I have been using this for over a year and it is now one of my favorite woodworking tools. I paid $69 for mine only to find it on sale a couple of weeks later for $49, thought of exchanging it but it is worth every penny.

    For small projects only
Honestly its a great router. Definitely does the job well. However it eats the battery in MAYBE 20 min with continuous use. So great for small projects however recommend electric powered router for large projects. I had to rotate through 3 different ryobi batteries on charge to complete my project.

This a very good Trim Router, not great, but very close. I've used it quite a bit over the last year. Pro's: The motor is very powerful, I've pushed it harder than you really should. I've had 1.5 inch depth by .5 inch with bits in it and it doesn't struggle. Ergonomics are great, it is very easy to hold and handle. Cons: The edge does not exists, it's been out of production for a long time. I've heard you can special order it, but the person I asked at Home Depot said they couldn't. No way to hook a hose to it and trust me, it needs it. I think the Rigid unit is identical and I've been tempted to buy it's vacuum guard. making adjustments with it is ok, could be better. This will crush batteries, They really need a brushless option. Definitely buy the double pack of 6ah batteries. When you factor the price, how well it performs, it's a great buy. Honestly, you need to spend a lot more for routers that address my cons.

Maybe I’m not using this tool correctly but it doesn’t lock in the set position. So when using it on a very sensitive project the bit moved a lot while routing and destroyed my piece. I really want to return it I’m very upset about this

As our British cousins would say, a valuable bit of kit
If you're already in the Ryobi One+ ecosystem, this purchase is a no-brainer. It won't have the endurance of a corded model, but for a quick touch up or for trim work, it's a rockstar. I've also had good results with attaching it to a MilesCraft Circle Jig kit to carve out circles, or round corners off a sheet of plywood that I intend to turn into a racetrack poker table. (The one in the photo was a 'proof-of-concept' I did on a 2'x4' sheet to test.) This is my first router purchase, and I've had it about a year and been very happy with it.

            Good router but beware
First router. Used it to build a set of custom bifold shaker closet doors. When setting the depth at 1/4” the vibration shakes the bit and adjusment knob slips and i found my 1/4” was nearly 1/2”. There is no way to lock this tool amd be confident it stays put so I had to place tape over the adjustment knob so it wouldnt move. Painful, but i got through the job and doors turned out pretty good for a first timer. Working on the second set now. Ive tried reaching out to Ryobi on multiple occasions for a couple of issues but have had no response. Also, like others have said, make sure tou have multiple batteries for bigger jobs. I use a couple of the larger 4amp and I shuffle them in/out frequently

First router purchase. Works great so far. Only downside is that base plate. It wont fill all one of the bigger router bits. Not sure if there's a replacement base plate for it. Other than that, it works great.

This thing is well designed and quality made. Bought it to recess door hings and latch plates on a custom door jamb project. Seems to have plenty of power and my 3ah hp+ battery dropped only a bit over the course of the project.

              Good little tool
Pros: lightweight, relatively quiet for a router, easy to use right out of the box, fits the Milescraft Circle JigCons: goes through a ONE battery charge in no time. I'm not a pro, so this tool is perfect for me. I needed to cut a few circles, and this fit the bill for the money.

                Great little machine
I like the battery powered tools. I still use a corded compound miter slide. Habit I guess. I would say if you want a lite router. This is it. These are some lamps that I built for my grandchildren. Now my neighbor's, their friends, my mother, my friends all want one to. Looks like retirement is over. Love it. Good machine ryobi.

excellent little router. I bought to finish a table that I am working on. I used to flush cut the top surface which it did a great job on, and then used to put a 45 degree bull nose on the edge. The bull nose is quite a bit of material to be removed and the router showed no signs of slowing down.

Thiis is aawsome little Router. My only complaint is that the base is too small. It has lots of power if your not too greedy. I used an oggee bit and eat a little at a time. I also made a larger base with some 1/4” plexi glass i had laying around.

This is a great little trim router. Perfect for the DIYer or woodworking hobbyist. Has good power and battery life when using a 4aH or higher battery. Adjusting the depth is easy and pretty spot on. 1/4 inch collat for bits. Very useful for finishing work.

Just bought this yesterday to trim the skirt boards for some stairs I'm redoing. Its My first router of any sort and I've only played around with it a little, but I'm amazed by how easy this thing is to use and the beautiful, professional looking results I saw with the very first cut. The tool is fairly intuitive and seems quite well made. I also bought a carbide tipped bit - not Ryobi brand cause the store didn't have any Ryobi carbide bits. From the videos I've seen, the bit can make all the difference. The one I got, a 1/4" roundover was about $30. But it cut so easily that when I started the first cut I didn't think it was cutting anything at all until I saw the shavings. I felt no resistance. If you've never used one, read the operator's manual and maybe watch some tutorials. If you're experienced with routers I probably have nothing to say to you besides I think this is a good little tool.

My first trim router, but I have had a couple regular sized routers. I have a large collection of Ryobi 18v ONE+ tools and batteries, so run time is not that important to me, I will always have more batteries ready to go. So I decided to use my smaller batteries because I've seen reviews saying this router is top heavy. With the smaller batteries that was not a problem. I took a piece of pine and routed the edge, deep cut first round, just to see if this had the power to do it, it did plus just one round gave me a fairly nice edge, went over it a couple more times and it was near perfect. What wasn't perfect was mostly me getting use to the small base. The only real con I have to say about it is the depth control latch is made of plastic and has a real cheap feel about it when using it, like it is just waiting to break. So it is a nice, light weight (4 pounds), portable router that can do the job. What more can you ask for.

I do a lot of doors and finish work needing this tool often. It is very convenient being cordless because the work I do with it is precise and a cord makes it awkward. The router has adjustments making it easy for me to get the exact positioning of the bit that is needed for the task. This is my second one so I have had ownership for quite a while. Tried to go without it when I lost my first one, but felt I had to break down and buy another. Once you get familiar with a certain tool in your bag it's hard to do without. I recommend this tool for all finishers in the business!

Very good product and easy to use. Balance is good and I found it easy to control without fatigue. My initial use was trimming 1/4" underlayment on several 5'x3' rolling shelves. Combined with the Ryobi 1/4" shank carbide router bit set, the tool was perfect for the job and left a very nice edge. Continuous running will use up the 2 amp hour batteries at a quicker, but not unreasonable rate. If you have larger projects, you are better off using 4 amp hour batteries. I will definitely upgrade my rating to 5 stars if the tool proves to be as durable, over time, as the other Ryobi 18v I use on a daily basis.

I bought this to fill the need for a small router, and was a little skeptical about it's performance. Any doubts were quickly erased, the first time I used it with a 5/32" Roman Ogee bit to put a decorative edge on a 3/4" maple address sign plaque, and it went thru it like butter! It is easy to handle, control and guide. When I first picked it up I instinctively wanted a trigger, but after thinking about it and using it, came to realize the switch guarantees that it is going to maintain a constant speed and more stable operating platform. The depth settings are precise and easy to use. This is a great tool and if you need to get more operating time, purchase the larger batteries.

I thought it might be "lite" on power but it has plenty. I routed T-slots into a fixture I was making. I made a couple of passes and my fixture came out better than I hoped for. The adjustment does require some break in and this is okay because it allows for better adjustment (it's not loose or sloppy).
