The fan in this combo works great. No issues there. My issues with this production lies in the batteries. Out of the 2 batteries it cane with one of them didnt even work. It wouldn't charge or anything. You would think there would be some sort of QC.

RYOBI The battery and the Hybrid Fan look and act very reliable, excellent tools to choose from. The Product works amazingly great for any home, work or office improvement project.! For Hot weather, this is the Fan to choose from.! It will cook you down! Small but, powerful, I love that 3-switch speed.! The price and performance are Excellent for any work! Highly Recommended.! This is a great fan. I have an older Ryobi fan and this one feels a lot lighter than my previous model. The openings on the cover are small enough so my fingers cannot fit in between them, in case I picked it up it was operating. For me , I feel that tools that will run continuously should have a Gauge that is always on, so you can easily see how much juice is left. One the lowest setting the fan was low enough that it did not disrupt the sound from my portable speaker. I used it with my 4.0ah battery and got several hours out of it. I had it on medium for an hr or two and then let it run on low while I slept. It was still on 4hrs later. I do not know when exactly it shut off as I left it on low to air out a room and it was off when I returned hrs later. This lost a star from me because I would like the ability to charge the battery when it is in the fan, by plugging this up, but you cannot do that. The battery and terminals to run this on AC are in the same area.

Don't let the size of this fan turn you away. This guy kicks a nice breeze any direction you'd like. I love that it can be hung, tilted, placed where you need it and so on. The versatility is fantastic. I like to use the fan at work. There are many spots that I get into that are muggy and hot. This fan helps give me that extra edge to make my day go by a lot faster. The best part is that I have multiple batteries so when one runs to empty, I just do a quick switch. The fan is durable and easy to keep clean. Its compact and easy to take with you as needed. Definitely and easy RECOMMENDATION!

My Review for RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless Hybrid 7-1/2 in. Fan (Tool Only). I have the version before this one and the new model addresses my biggest complaint over the old one (which I actually really like and still use after five years). Now the on/off speed control is in the front where you can see it. Plus, it is much easier to operate than the old style that you could not see, or tell which speed you were one. Speed 1 on this is almost silent, but pushes a light amount of air. Speed two feels like high speed on the old model, and Speed 3 is really humming along and a bit noisy. The unit as a whole seems lighter. The hooks on the base for chain link mounting will be nice for those watching kids play in the heat.

Here in Florida a fan is a necessity. I have one under my desk in my office to cool down both the silicon and me. Out in the shop during most of the year it is unbearable without something blowing in your face. I've had to sand out several projects where a big drop of sweat ruined a coat of finish. I only have so many electrical outlets, and after a while moving a big floor fan gets in the way. I wanted something smaller, portable and still effective. Step in the Ryobi 7 1/2" ONE+ Hybrid Fan. I can run it off any of my ONE+ 18V Lithium-ion batteries or just plug an extension cord into it. It does BOTH. It is unusually quiet for such a powerful little fan. It is quieter than the similar size office fan I have under my desk. The head rotates 165 degrees and the base can be mounted to a wall using two #8 pan head screws sticking out about 1/2". The unit weighs about 4 pounds, just enough so those pan head screws should be in a wall stud. It is easy to carry around by the top handle. This is exactly what I was looking for. It has earned a permanent spot on my work table. 5 stars!

This Ryobi Hybrid Fan is one of hundreds of tools that is powered by the Ryobi One+ 18V battery. But, it is a hybrid and can also be powered with an electric cord. The body of the fan is sturdy and appears to be well built. I like that I can use this fan anywhere; in home, workshop or outside, although it is not weather proof. It has 3 fan speeds, good air velocity, a pivoting head and, as part of Ryobi's Whisper Series, runs quieter. This includes the Fan tool only. The battery, charger and electric cord are sold separately.

I think I have all the Ryobi fans, so I was happy to see another hybrid ONE+ fan. I like the design of this one a bit better as it has a nicer selection switch and an easier to use handle at the top. For the size of this fan it blows a great amount of air, and can be placed nearly anywhere. Of course it’s portable so you can easily take this with you outside or to a worksite. I really do appreciate the hybrid option as I can have this sitting on my workbench plugged in and not have to worry about switching out batteries. I will definitely be picking up another!

This RYOBI Hybrid Whisper Series is awesome. I wanted one of these mainly for power outages during hurricane season in Florida. I am impressed by the air this little fella puts out. I wasn't expecting a 7 1/2 inch fan to be such a powerhouse for distributing air. It has off, and 1,2,3 settings. It states it has 24 percent more air velocity. Three is the best to me, and the quietest. Being a light sleeper, I will be able to adjust to the sound of this fan, hence the reason it is called the Whisper Series and is 44 percent quieter..Great for campers, fishing, ballgames, tailgating, working in tight spaces, or any place you need some air. It does state it is not made for wet weather. It has built in hanging slots on the back for multiple positions, and a built in carry handle. The fan housing adjusts 160 degrees and holds whatever position you put it in. It can be used via an electrical extension cord or any RYOBI 18 v battery. I used the one I have for my RYOBI drill and it works like a charm. This is the fan only at fifty bucks, which is a great price. One of the benefits of RYOBI is the batteries are interchangeable. 3 yr limited warranty.

The Ryobi comes without an extension cord or battery but will function well on either power source. The cord connection is a two-prong (no ground plug required) setup. The battery connection is, of course, for the Ryobi +1 battery. The fan comes ready to use right out of the box, no assembly required. Add a battery or cord and you're ready to go. Fit and finish is excellent. There's a carry-handle at the top, a mounting plate at the bottom and there are two 'hook' type mounting points that allow the unit to be hung from a chain link fence, etc. (see photos). The fan can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The air flow direction can be adjusted in the up-down dimension (when sitting horizontally). There are no adjustment screws or knobs for the swivel action. In practice I've had no issues with the fan moving from the direction in which I pointed it. There is no automatic swivel action - the air flow goes in the direction that it’s pointed at. A rotary 3-speed switch (plus off position) works well and is large enough to manipulate while wearing work gloves. In use I'm finding this thing is very quiet (YMMV). Even at the highest speed the noise doesn't intrude. There is plenty of airflow to keep me comfortable when working at my workbench (YMMV). I don't have a reading yet for battery life - currently the fan is sitting on the top shelf of my basement workbench, and I have house power available there. I do have plans for battery operation though - my 4x4 frequently needs a serious interior scrubbing and it always gets unpleasantly warm when doing that job in the summer. This fan running on battery should provide a nice airflow in the back where the side windows don't go down. Ryobi offers a 3-year warranty on the fan. I’ve not found any issues with the fan; I think it deserves full marks and a “recommended” grade. HTH Regards, Jim
