[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been working installing PVC kitchen cabinets and this tool has been a life saver for cutting out the plumbing pipe holes or the electrical outlet box holes in these cabinets better, cleaner and more precise than with a jigsaw.

Ryobi tools absolutely superb tools
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this rotary cutter 3 weeks ago and it works like a dream. My first Ryobi tool was a drill I bought in 1998 I still have it and it still work perfect. I own so many Ryobi 18v tools then I can list. In the last 24 years the only thing I had to replace is Batteries considering my job is in construction and they get used un average 4 to 6 hr. a day I think they are awesome. I have 37 coworkers in our company and over the years after there cordless tools have died they turned to Ryobi after seeing how long and durable mine have proven to be.

Rotary cutter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little Rotary cutter is fantastic for drywall, makes fast cutting for outlet holes and light switches. Great at cutting angles and even when over lapping drywall over window or door openings. Just remember your cutting will be counterclockwise for best results, even cuts wood but not at very thick rates, won’t use on anything thicker then 1/4 plywoods and less. Drywaller must have tool, makes cutting drywall easier and much faster.

Vinyl Siding Cut No Problem
I purchased this rotary cutting tool to perform a precision cut in vinyl siding. The tool was used for a recessed "in-use" single gang Arlington DBVR131W electrical box with GFI. The rectangular cut dimensions were 5-1/2" x 3-1/4". The bottom line is some of the reviews on this tool did not recommend using it for vinyl or plastic cuts. The cut went flawlessly in brand new 5" lap vinyl siding. The cut was done in less than five minutes with precision and no issues. The plywood cutting bit that comes with the tool was used and went through the siding like butter. I definitely recommend purchasing and using this tool for vinyl siding cut outs.

Smoke coming from the motor and drill bit broke
Not even a minute into it and smoke started coming out of the motor, and the drill bit that came with it broke. I'm inside a mid-attic with crawling with only 2.5" of space between the first main floor ceiling and the second floor. I thought this would make my job easy but it did not. I barely got half an inch cut into a half inch drywall when it broke.

Great tool for cutting circles!
I needed to cut circles in plywood to make a cat wheel. Using a jigsaw led to a wonky uneven edge. Found this tool and gave it a try. Much more successful! I made a jig out of some scrap and as long as I was patient the circle’s edge came out very smooth. A welcome addition to my Ryobi cordless tool collection

I had to replace a pivot shoe on my bathroom window. The manufacturer had a cutout in the vinyl so you can replace the pivot shoe or counterweights, but it wasn't cut large enough for a new pivot shoe to fit in. So I needed a tool to trim the vinyl back some more to be able to fit the new pivot shoe in. This tool did the job great.
As far as the tool itself I do have a couple complaints. It's not a trigger pull to activate, it's an on/off button. I didn't realize this as I was taking it out of the box and putting a battery on it. Since the button was in the on position it turned on as soon as I attached the battery. Luckily I didn't have the tool in a position that could have caused injury or damage. Also replacing the bits requires a little wrench tool. It doesn't have onboard storage so I'll have to keep track of that and the replacement pieces.
It's nice the tool comes with a 1/4" and 1/8" adapter so you can use different bits with it. And the depth guide is nice to have as well.
All-in-all it's got the power to get the job done. It cut through vinyl trim pretty easily so I think it would do well with drywall when I have to use it for that. Tool felt pretty sturdy and came with extra bits and a depth control guide. My only concern is with safety since there's not any sort of trigger pull to activate it. The on/off button just seems poorly thought out.
