Features

Awesome little work horse of a hedge trimmer!
Love this thing. Feels like it's built well and cuts great, even chopped up 1/4in thick shrub branches. The speed of the trimmer blades is perfect too. Battery lasts a long time for light use. Light weight and easy to use. Highly recommend! Get this "HP" version, not the regular one.

Lightweight & Powerful Trimmer! Ready to Trim!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this powerful trimmer today for some much needed TLC yard work! This is the only trimmer that can successfully handle the tremendous overgrown weeds and brushes in my backyard. It's super lightweight and didn't get bogged down by the abundance of overgrowth that it cut through on the area I tested in my yard. Here's what the job this powerful trimmer is set to take down. I'lll post the video of the actual trimming & photos of the finished work in my next review.

Exceeded Expectations
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used the trimmer for part of one season so far and it has performed very well. It is well balanced and has a large cutting range. Battery life has been better than expected. It handled the trimming of a very large hedge with only a couple of battery swaps.

Small trigger
Everything about this trimmer is ok for the exception of the trigger on the handle. It barely sticks out from the handle. (about 1/8" to 1/4" at the most) I found myself having to constantly grip the handle tight to keep the trimmer running. If I relax my grip a bit, eventually the trimmer will begin to stop because there really isn't much of a trigger there. I returned this and upgraded to the Ryobi 26" 40V brushless cordless hedge trimmer. You can definitely see the difference in the trigger on both trimmers. I returned the trimmer before I measure the trigger size but I did measure the new one and it is 1/2" while this trimmer was half that size at the largest area of the trigger.

Very light weight. A lot of power for a very small motor. Very easy to handle. It is the easiest trimmer to use out of the three I have. Quiet. I got about 20 minutes of run time off a 2ah battery in 45 degree weather, which I thought was amazing. I was able to easily cut up to 1/2 inch branches. My kit came with the trimmer, a battery and the charger. I never use the hedge sweep, as I find it catches on things and is more of a problem than a help.

Not recommended at all
I am unfortunately on my way back to Home Depot to return my second purchase of this unit. Both times in one day with two separate units it has mechanically failed. First time it became binded up. Second time it seems like it has jumped timing and both bladed are moving together. Will not purchase again. See the small bushes I was cutting

RYOBI ONE+ 22 in. 18-Volt HP Brushless Lithium-Ion Cordless Hedge Trimmer - 2 Ah Battery and Charger Included review: I have been needing a good hedge trimmer for quite some time. The blade length of the cutters is 22 inches - perfect for cutting any hedge. I used this to cut the hedges in my front yard - they are decades old - and it trimmed them superbly. I was surprised that even the large thick branches were easily cut - no jamming or stuck tool problems. It was so easy to trim the hedges. I took the advice in the manual and used 3-in-1 oil on the blades. The only issue is that the 2 ampHour battery did not last too long. Fortunately I own two 4 amphour batteries and they lasted long enough to trim all my hedges. What a joy to use! There ya go!

I like the 22" blade on this hedge trimmer and that it matches my 18-volt line. The brushless motor is powerful and the fact that this is cordless is a major plus; no more cutting extension cords and I can carry it all around the yard. It cuts up to 1/4" very well but is not balanced too well, due to the light battery. Installing the hedge sweep makes it further unbalanced. I still find it makes easy work of my hedges though and saves me a lot of hassle. The safety switch also does not auto engage so using it with a single hand (when you need to reach far) is very much difficult. The trimmer came packaged well and also came with a charger, battery, hedge sweep and sheath cover.
