6-inch pruning mini-chainsaw is a safe and versatile tool for the yard and the woodlot.
I purchased this pruning chainsaw to thin our 45-year-old blueberry bushes. It works great when trimming in close quarters, without over-cutting into other branches. Many of the bushes are about 2 inches thick, and impossible to get with a regular lopper.
We also have a woodlot and found this pruning chainsaw very helpful in cutting the top branches of felled trees for our kindling. This tool is much safer than trying to work with a 16-inch chainsaw.
This tool is safe, reliable, and fun to use! My biggest problem is stealing it back from my wife, as she really loves to use it.

Easy to use with real results
This is a real chainsaw, mini but that chain is spinning. So be careful. I really enjoy being able to snap a battery in and go to work. I have a lot of 18v Ryobi tools, so this was an obvious choice. With the battery in you must push the safety button before pulling the trigger.
I have only used it on a few small branches just over 1 or 2 inches that needed pruning. This should cut up to a thickness of 4 inches. I have a few larger projects to give it a real workout coming up. So I wanted to test it first. It worked great. I did try to cut up some small thin branches, not a good idea, they jammed into the casing. I just removed the battery, then relaxed the tension on the chain and the small branches pulled out easily.
The chain is easy to install and tighten with no tools. There is no need for oil according to the specifications, but the instructions saw to add a few drops. I tried a few cuts without oil, then with. I don't know if it matters.
The top of the chain has a floating cover that lifts as you cut. I've never seen that before. Seems like a nice safety feature.
I like it and plan on using it on the numerous limbs that fall during wind storms. So much faster, easier and convenient than my regular Chainsaw or lopper for clean up.

Great little pruning tool that makes pruning quick and easy!
The RYOBI ONE+ 18V Brushless 6 in. Cordless Compact Pruning Mini Chainsaw works great for pruning small to medium size branches. The included 2.0 Ah Battery lasts a long time. I used it to help a friend prune his pecan trees, it was so much quicker than using a compound action lopper.
The Ryobi Cordless Compact Pruning Chainsaw provides the cutting power of a gasoline chainsaw, but without the bulky size. The one feature missing from this saw is the auto oiling feature of a larger battery powered or gasoline chainsaw. Ryobi recommends manually oiling the chain before starting and then reapplying oil every 5-10 minutes. I found this to be a hassle, but I acknowledge that an auto oiler would increase the size, weight and cost of the saw. I am sure that keeping the chain oiled will increase battery life and also the life of the chain.
I recommend the RYOBI ONE+ 18V Brushless 6-inch Cordless Compact Pruning Mini Chainsaw with 2.0 AH Battery and Charger for anyone that does a lot of pruning or needs to cut up small branches after a storm.

Impressive pruning tool that has become my favorite!
This Ryobi compact pruning chainsaw is the perfect size for me to trim all my trees and bushes. I like that it is smaller and lighter than my regular chainsaw and it comes with a sturdy scabbard. The only thing I don't like about the scabbard is that it only slides on one way, but that's no big deal. It easily cuts through small branches up to 4" diameter. There is no oil reservoir tank or automatic oiling, the saw requires manual lubrication of the chain and bar. It is not a hassle to keep it oiled and I like that I don't have oil leaking out as in my automatic-oiler saws. The grips are comfortable and non-slip and it is easy to cut with one hand when needed. The chain tension adjustment is easy to use and needs no tools. The LED status lights on the newer style battery are an improvement over the older style batteries.
This is the first time I've had a saw with a front chain guard, and I absolutely love it! It also helps keep the sawdust from flying back into my face while cutting. After about an hour of cutting, the battery was still half full. It was an easy chore cutting dead branches and some tree limbs.
Instructions are included for each of the battery, charger, and chainsaw. I am hoping to find replacement chains soon for this, as I have not found any yet.

Great Saw for Small Limbs
I ordered this saw after having two decently sized limbs come crashing down in my yard after the recent ice storm in SE Michigan. It proved to be quite useful in cleaning up the mess. I was able to use this one-handed without any fatigue. It was solid and felt balanced in the hand. It made quick work of the limbs that were down. Each limb was around 4" where it broke. Overall, I am very satisfied with this saw, and was worth buying to clean up the mess.
