Q:When the PSI gets low, how do you refill the little tank to 125 PSI? Could it be done at a place where I put air in a car's tires? Thanks in advance.

Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Nailgunoptions - Thank you for your question. Yes, that should be fine. If you have a compressor. Connect it to the valve and pressurize the tank to a maximum of 125 psi. Allow the tool to recharge for approximately 30 seconds. I hope this helps! Impressive but two surprises- one pro and one con.
Impressive! The Ryobi One+ 18v brushless 30-degree framing nailer exceeded my expectations. It was a big improvement over a cordless nailer I had tried in the past. As others have said it is a little heavy but I found it balanced well and the more I used it- the easier it was to handle. It shot nails into pine lumber with no problems. So to test it I got 3 pieces of old oak flooring and it handled them as easy as the pine- I did have to adjust the depth adjustment screw to so head of nail was flush on the dried oak boards. The one thing that has left me a little confused. The literature I read and the box indicated “NO COMPRESSOR, GAS CARTRIDGE OR HOSE NEEDED” and on the bottom of the retail packaging “%. On board air fill valve doe field serviabilityand decreased down time.”That is true when you are operating the nailer but they left out the asterisk* One you read the operators manual you will find the nailer has a built-in “AIR PRESSUER TANK,” The manual said: “after the initial use, you may notice a decrease in performance. Refilling the air pressure tank to 125psi can help restore he unit’s performance.” Then there is brief information about exposing the air fill stem and restoring the pressure to 125psi. At this point I do not know how long a full tank of air will last or how bad the performance will deteriorate- and if I need to take my compressor to a job site in case the performance “decreases” and I need to recharge the gun. The cover secured with a hex head screw is not located in an easily assessable area. Ryobi ould have been a little more up front about the need to periodically recharge the nailer to 125 psi.

            Top notch
I’ve always trusted Ryobi. They’ve always made some pretty great tools and this nailer is actually really very nice. I mean the quality that they put into it is excellent it’s really comfortable in your hand, and for those if you have who have never used one of these, I’m not gonna lie it is heavy, but it’s a good heavy and allows you to use it and it doesn’t really bounce that much. It’s easy to load without any issues and since it is Ryobi, you know it’s some pretty great quality.

              Quality Cordless Framing Nailer
I have found the RYOBI ONE+ HP 18 Volt brushless cordless AirStrike 30° framing nailer to be a quality tool with nice features and also works very well. I have used nailers with a compressor for many years but when it’s a smaller job the battery powered nailer is so much more covenant. I am using a 4 Ahr battery and it should drive about 750 nails. I have always liked the 30 degree nailers for their ease to get into a tight spot. The drive switch allows you to select between single sequential and contact actuation modes for either precise or rapid and repeat nail placement. The depth adjustment is easy to use and I turned it about one turn to get my first test nails flush. This is the adjustment you will use the most as the length of the nails and the thickness and type of wood will change the depth adjustment. The Framing Nailer also has a rafter hook and a belt hook for convenience. This is not a light tool but I have compared it to a large framing nailer I have used for years and its very close in weight, plus you don’t have a hose to pull around especially when you are up on a ladder. This tool feels well balanced and easy to control. There is a compressed air chamber that requires refilling when performance decreases which is much better than having to buy gas cartridges. I am very pleased with this RYOBI AirStrike 30° Framing Nailer and expect to get many years of use from it. It comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Yes there is a longer magazine
Okay folks, Listen up. I've seen lots of people complaining that they can't get a longer magazine. You can. Its a ridgid Model # AC102EM30N|Store SKU # 1001660552. currently $89.00 (as of June 2023) It fits with one modification: you MUST use the slightly longer rear support bracket off of the original ryobi magazine and remove & replace the ridgid one. It's a battery clearance issue. Other than that, it attaches with the two original hex head screws that held the short magazine on. And for heaven's sake, just loosen the bracket screw, and slide the magazine out, you don't need to remove it.

Heavy but drives nails well and no hose needed
Pro's are that this does not need a hose or a compressor to drive framing nails. I did not try driving into engineered or hardwood lumber but I have no issues in fir lumber or pressure treated with 3.5" ring shanked nails. It can drive nails at a decent pace, not as fast as a pneumatic nailer. Not having a hose connected makes it nice tight spots. The battery seems to last a acceptable amount of time, I only saw it drop one bar in a few hundred nails. Does seem to be a little quieter than a pneumatic nailer. This is pretty compact for a framing nailer. No smell like you have with a Paslode nailer! Con's: This is noticeably heavier than a pneumatic nailer. I would not want to be using it overhead or at arms length. But that is the trade off of not having to deal with a hose. This also only hold one strip of nails, most pneumatic nails I have used could take two. Not a huge issues, just need to refill more often. Kickback seems more than it should be considering how heavy this is. There is not much/any cushioning to minimize it either.

                Heavy but powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Remodeling a room all the way back to the studs didn’t like where the closest was in the room and decided the other end of the bedroom looked better for the closet plus wanted to add some framing around the chimney that was protruding into the room. Started with old hammer and nail but in my head I knew this would be such a better option especially with everything else being done didn’t want to take longer on something hidden behind drywall. I picked this up and knocked out the framing pretty quickly and moved onto installing the strapping on to the ceiling. This is a hefty tool but at the end of the day your arm isn’t sore lifting this tool like it would be hammering nails into studs. Love this gun and looking forward to my next project

If you need a framer get this one!
This is absolutely an amazing nailer. Wish I bought this last year. I have an air compressor and several air tools. I wanted a framing nailer and decided to go with batteries for convenience, and it is so nice to just insert a battery and start. I have a lot of Ryobi 18v tools and now I have this awesome Ryobi framing nailer. I'm so impressed I may sell my compressor and replace my other nailers with Ryobi 18v. I've been working on repairing and extending a deck. The time savings this framer brings is great. I loaded 3 inch full head nails, can use 2 to 3 1/2 inch nails, but the 3 inch is perfect for 2 boards.. The nail strips slide in easily. They can also be removed easily. My first nail was not flush. I turned the adjuster and by my 3rd nail it perfect. My son-in-law noted, it better be right, cause it's not coming out. There was a need to add some 2 x 4 to the sides of an old joist. No room for a hammer or drill to work, but the nailer fit right in and instantly it was secured. I chose the 30 degree framer because the nails are collated with paper. No cleanup and I just don't like plastic pieces every where. Also the 30 degree gets into tighter spaces. There is a framing hanger and a belt clip that I didn't try. They may be useful, especially when we build the new shed. A few concerns I have. There is no lock or safety switch. If the battery is in, the unit is on. I removed the battery just to be safe. This is the heaviest nailer I own. My guess is that with the battery it's about 2 pounds more than an air framing nailer would be. I had no issues with weight. It's very balanced and easy to handle. It's easy to use, fast, uses my current battery system and if you need a framer this is it.

                  Really great tool!
I haven't ever had the chance to use a nail gun before, but it always seemed like it would be a really useful tool. With a potting/garden bench to build and other projects planned, it seemed like time to finally get one. This thing is nice! I mean, I can't say how it compares to other nail guns, but it definitely worked well for our project, and I'm sure it will continue to do so. We have a lot of Ryobi tools, and the compatible batteries make everything easy. The nail gun is plenty powerful to go through pressure treated 2x4s and deck boards, which is what we were using for this first project. It didn't jam or anything. We didn't have to make any adjustment, but I'm sure they're as easy as the instructions say. It's cordless, so easy to move around and take anywhere. It definitely made our project go much more quickly, and I know we'll get a lot more use out of it.

                  Great and Powerful Framing Nailer
I ordered the Ryobi One+ HP 18V AirStrike Framing Nailer, because I thought it was time, I modernized by moving away from my old hammer and nails. I already own a large collection of Ryobi 18V tools, so I ordered the tool only version, as I have several battery packs. To my surprise, a battery and charger were included in my box. Never having used a Framing Nailer, I was not sure how to operate it, so I read through the instructions and was quite confused! I had to order nails suitable for this 30-degree Framing Nailer. After I received the nail strips, I thought I was loading the nails correctly, but nothing happened when I tried to nail, so I was forced to re-read the instructions. After several attempts, I finally figured out how to operate this Framing Nailer. It worked great and I felt really powerful. There are many great features to this Framing Nailer that allow for safe and easy operation. I am thrilled with my new Ryobi AirStrike Framing Nailer and definitely do recommend this fine Ryobi product.
