ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Whisper Series 130 MPH 450 CFM Cordless Battery Leaf Blower (Tool Only)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this little 18V ONE+ HP BRUSHLESS WHISPER SERIES 450 CFM BLOWER​ to complement my selection of Ryobi 18V tools. My main reason was to clear the sawdust from my shop between projects. I choose the most powerful blower in the 18V line up. I am not disappointed with the power this little blower packs. It clears the dust from tables and the floor with great efficiency. It has quite the range and is super light weight compared to my plug in blower. Now I'm not tied to the electrical outlet and my shop is sawdust and sticks, paper, rags, gloves etc. clean.

This leaf blower is very nice. I have a 4 stroke gas unit that I compare it to. This Ryobi is much quieter at under 68 dBa compared to 98 dBa for the gas unit. They both put out about the same 20 mph wind at 6 feet away with ratings of 450 cubic feet per minute Ryobi and 425 for my gas unit. This battery powered unit weighs about 7 1/2 pounds compared to over 14 lbs for the gas unit. The brushless motor should last and the 3 year warranty beats my gas unit. My only negative is the run-time versus charge time. With the supplied 4 amp hour battery, the run time is about 16 minutes on normal, non-turbo mode. It then takes several hours to recharge for 16 more minutes. My task usually is about 45 minutes so I need more, bigger batteries which cost more than the blower. If you have a deck or small yard that needs a quick blow cleaning, this is really nice. It has a trigger lock so you can trade hands without turning off and a spare concentrator nozzle to increase the wind velocity from about 110 to 120 or 130 miles per hour.

Let me lead off by saying that this was shipped to my house by home depot, it arrived in perfect shape and within two days so a positive experience right out of the gate. This blower uses the 18v Ryobi batteries, not the 40v, so keep that in mind if you are adding to an existing set; my other cordless equipment is the 40v version. The battery and charger are included and I tested this using the battery provided and resisted the temptation to use the higher amps version. The battery had minimal charge when received; I charged it to full in less than 30 minutes. The charger is the basic version that seems to be coming with a lot of these kits now, but it did work fine. Now for the power, this blower did a good job blowing out leaves and debris and had a decent run time. I was able to get 20 minutes of steady run time out of this battery. I purposely kept it running to see how long the battery lasted and if you are thoughtful you can easily clean up your yard no problem on one charge. I have an 18v Ridgid blower which I like very much and compared performance. This Ryobi was more powerful than Ridgid’s which is impressive. I use these cordless blowers for a quick clean up when sitting outdoors in the warmer weather, no hassle, no cords, or when I am doing projects; it blows out sawdust really well. You will be very happy with this unit as long as you do not compare it to a corded or gas version. It can handle yard clean up and keeping your tools clean, blowing out the garage and any other tasks that you may need to blow out debris. This is the Whisper series of tools, and I will say it is actually pretty quiet, you will not need any ear plugs etc and it will not bother the neighbors. The unit comes with two rubber tips which I added a picture of, that is how you increase airflow. I can’t say I noticed much difference. This also has a trigger lock which was handy, lastly, there is a turbo button to give you a burst of airflow, it was ok and it will run down your battery faster if you use it Last thing I did notice. I tried to plug the charger into my outdoor outlet, the type that has the two flip over waterproof covers, the adapter is too big to fit and I had to charge it in the house. I never encountered that before. If you have other Ryobi 18 volt tools this is a no risk add on. I would by this again and do recommend it

This is by far the quietest leaf blower I have used. It is about half the noise volume of other blowers. Despite being so quiet, this blower is powerful and will do the job. It handled wet, compacted leaves well and moved them around efficiently. The blower delivers 450 CFM and speeds up to 130 MPH. It also have several nice other features. Variable speed trigger offers a good degree of control when less force is required and a turbo button for the opposite. Two rubber tip attachments are included, they serve to increase speed for heavier work and seems to work pretty well. The blower also has a switch that keeps the power on for longer work, which is a handy feature. The 18-volt is compatible with tons of other Ryobi products and should last about 45 mins on a full charge. Overall, this is a super quiet but powerful blower with a few convenient features.

I frequently use my leaf blower while RV Park camping and in close proximity to my camping neighbors. I need a quiet, powerful leaf blower without the shrill scream that most leaf blowers have. And I prefer battery operation. This ONE+ Ryobi 18V Whisper series leaf blower is very powerful, reasonably quiet, and has a low frequency tone. It's noise level is comparable my old battery-powered leaf blower with about double the air flow and speed. The balance on the handle is great as it points the blower down naturally (the old blower pointed up). I like the turbo mode button for those slightly stubborn leaves that hug the ground when being blown. And the included additional replacement rubber tip is an unexpected bonus.

FEATURES I LIKE It has a Spare flexible speed tip nozzle …or you can trim one of them, so you have two air speed options: 120mph (trimmed), and the other at 130 mph (untrimmed). Its light weight Control buttons are easy to use (and figure out) - Variable Speed Trigger: lever controls the air speed & works intuitively - Cruise Control lever: locks in a set speed based on the Variable speed lever - Turbo boost: Max speed Universal battery concept: the same battery works with other Ryobi tools and vice versa. The Safety Instructions: There were two pages of comprehensive safety instructions. Many are common sense (safety glasses, ear protection, don’t use in a wet environment etc). Others are like “Who would try that?” (i.e., Such as using it near fireplaces and BBQ pits etc.). FEATURES THAT COULD BE IMPROVED Instructions could be improved. - Battery life (4 AHr) could be improved. The battery life is 5 to 10 mins depending on the speed setting you use (based on the trigger pull you use). This is balanced with the universal battery concept. If you need more battery life, just borrow one from one of your other Ryobi tools. - Nesting of small soft rubber speed tip nozzle inside the blower tube (Black): I tried to connect the 2 ft blower tube to the green blower motor unit and could not get them to connect. They were about half an inch apart. It wasn’t until I looked inside the 2ft blower tube that I discovered the 4 inch speed tip nozzle had been nested inside the blower tube (for shipping). Nothing in the instructions about that (Doh !!). - Charger icons and their meaning were a little difficult to decipher. Some plain English instructions and better icons would help.

Nice and quite! I like this leaf blower for it's size and capabilities. Easy to assemble and store. It has a locking feature to keep the motor going so you don't have to hold the switch down. Has a turbo boost feature that is really great and strong. The kit comes with a battery and charger to get you started. You will like it. It goes well with the Ryobi line of products.

This new cordless blower from Ryobi joins my gas powered and corded blowers as a part of lawncare tools at my home. This blower features an 18 volt 4.0 ah battery and comes with the charger. I found that the battery fully charges in 2-3 hours. I used it (from full charge) for 15 minutes uninterrupted and it still had half power remaining in the battery (which has built-in charge status lights). It produces wind speed of up to 130mph and is relatively quiet (57db) compared to my other two blowers. (Although I always wear ear protection). This blower also features a variable speed trigger, cruise control (to eliminate fatigue when using) and a 3 year warranty. An added feature is that the battery is interchangeable with other Ryobi tools in this series.

I am delighted to have this Ryobi Cordless leaf blower. It’s super that it comes with the same One+ type of battery and a charger, just like my other Ryobi tools. I have more flexibility regarding the time of usage because I can change out batteries that are already on hand. Such a wonderful idea to have standardized batteries! It is definitely quieter than other leaf blowers that I have had and been exposed to around the neighborhood. Not sure I’d call it “whisper quiet”, but still fairly quiet. I like how light this leaf blower is vs gas models, much more balanced too. And no fumes! I have a corded blower that works just fine, as long as I am in range of an outlet for my extension cord. That cord has been a very limiting factor on a larger property, and a drag to drag around behind me, lol. The variable speeds are easy to manage and I like not having to hold the trigger constantly. I used my new Ryobi blower to clear the remaining fall leaf litter in the garage. The pictures are a before and after, just a couple seconds blast. And I will include a link to a short video of my test on the front steps. You can see how it works on the lowest setting. So simple! This tool will be such a great help all year round. I've got a wooded lot, which means tons of leaves and other debris that need clearing from driveway and walkway surfaces. I have a large 2-Cycle gas blower, but the noise and fumes it makes are bad enough to make me reluctant to use it. This Ryobi One+ HP 18V Brushless Whisper Series 130 MPH 450 CFM Cordless Leaf Blower solves my problem. The blower is lightweight and well balanced, so handling during use is easy. It has plenty of power to move even wet leaves (see video). The included 4.0 Ah Battery gives it plenty of run time, and the charger brings it back up to full charge quickly. This blower is part of the Ryobi One+ 18V tool line, so the battery is interchangeable with other products in this line. Noise level is excellent. While running on high, my sound meter measured a consistent 68-69 decibels. Considering the average vacuum cleaner runs at 75 or more decibels, this blower is very quiet, making ear protection optional for the operator. I'm very pleased with this leaf blower and highly recommend it!
