A:Â Hello, Ever - Thank you for your question. You can try switching out the driver bit in your drill for another one designed for a screw with a larger head. The larger driver bit can distribute the pressure across more of the screw head, helping to turn the screw out. I hope this helps! Additionally, if you need further support, then a RYOBI Customer Experience Professional is here for you, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6 pm (EST) when you call or text us at 1.800.525.2579 or through email or live chat when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact. Waste of money
The extractor thread stripped on the very first Bolt. They're not hardened steel.

Helped Extract Broken Bolt from Valve Cover
After drilling a pilot hole, I was able to use extractor #1 from this kit to remove a valve cover bolt that had broken on a ‘98 Honda Civic. Took a total of 2 minutes after having drilled the pilot hole.

Trash
Screw extraction is difficult and the process is often easy with the correct tool. This is not that tool. I’m a fan of Ryobi and this product is a disappointment.

Glad I didn't see the negative reviews
I bought this set weeks ago to remove a stripped socket screw head. It worked. Tonight I snapped one of the studs that holds the clutch housing to the engine on a '76 MG. It was broken below the surface. It worked and I had the stud out in minutes. Just use the guide that is printed in the case to find the right size drill bit, drill a hole in the bolt you are trying to remove - deep enough to let the extractor dig into the bolt - and work slowly.

Worked great, first time. Be patient
I never write reviews but had to for this, drilled my pilot hole and the first time hammering it in, didn’t quite stick, drilled my hole a little deeper and hammered it in, grabbed a wrench and worked it out. All fixed in under a minute

Worked as advertised
I used this to extract a rusted doorknob screw after carving off the doorknob with an angle grinder. The pictogram instructions are a little abstract but easy enough to follow. The whole procedure took about two minutes once I'd gathered the tools.

Extremely disappointed
I’ve trusted Ryobi products and have spent well over $2,500 on their products, so I trusted that when I needed to extract a stripped screw for a project- Ryobi would be a good choice.
Sadly, I was mistaken. I bought brand new bits and this set, and within 5 minutes the bit needed broke in half and the screw extractor didn’t move the screw at all
Not sure what to do next

Poor quality
This is a trash. Save yourself and buy other else. It only drilled a hole in the screw that I’m trying to extract. Not a single movement was made.

Lousy Packaging and Instructions
Once you remove the packaging, there is no indication remaining of what this is. If you're like me, you need a screw extractor about once every five years; so years from now, you or your family members will find this in your garage and wonder, "what the hell does this do?".
The instructions are literally three cartoons - no written instructions. You'll need to find a video on YouTube (and not from HD!) to figure out how to properly use these.
