Not exactly what I wanted, but for a drain fitting after wrapping the hose end with tape to make it fit 1/2" ID plastic tubing it works fine. After all, it was listed as a sprinkler fitting. I guess sprinkler hose is under size. Home Depot did not list a nylon 1/2" MPTx1/2" hose fitting that I could find in their inventory. Can't expect H. D. to stock everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do some research before you give review This is used with swing pipe for irrigation not pvc pipe for water lines (there is a big difference). If you buy this product thinking you will merry it to pvc then you will write a bad review. If you buy 1/2" swing pipe ( funny pipe) you will simply push it together not needing anything else. My irrigation company uses rain bird 1/2" swing pipe with 1/2" rain bird barbed couplers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from sizing is wrong the barbed side is wrong its not 1/2 inch probably more like 12mm fits like the neighborhood bike on half inch tubing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I recently added a sprinkler system to my yard. All of my sprinklers were done using swing pipe and these connectors. They made everything so much easier. These fittings will leak if you install them as the picture shows. You must use Teflon tape on the threads before installing into both the pvc pipe and into the sprinkler head. Purchase the 10/pk if you are doing more than a couple because you will save almost 50% off the price of them individually.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Undersized I purchased two units of this product and installed them this spring. They are quite undersized and no amount of tightening of the hose clamps can create a water tight fit on the 1/2 inch hose.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked great Although I've owned several homes in my lifetime, the house I bought last summer is my first with a sprinkler system. It worked fine last summer/early fall, but when I fired it up this spring, had an obvious leak from one of the heads. After digging it out, determined it was a broken swing pipe elbow. The new one did the trick perfectly. So the repair cost was just 70 cents...plus a little sweat!
