Worked well with brown drip kine
I was worried about buying this product after reading all the negative reviews but there weren’t many options given the hurry that I was in. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. It took moderate effort to push it on the brown drip line but there were no leaks.

      horrible do not buy
HD man said these are the new compression fittings. Horrible. 5 mins i got one end on the new hose, then after 30 mins of stressinng and straining no way was it going on the existing hose. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Had to cut this horrible new fitting off the new hose and use screw on fittings which leak but at least the 1/2” line is fixed at 105 degrees. HD you shouldn’t even sell these horrible couplings.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Twisting the fitting on or softening the tip of the tubing by dipping it in warm water for a few minutes can help get the fitting on. You can contact Rain Bird at 1-800-RAIN-BIRD for further assistance.

        Works great
I used these last year to modify a drip line system put in by a contractor. They worked perfectly, with ease. So I bought them again to repair a line (different tubing) that I accidentally cut. Could not get the tubing into the coupling until I tried Nooch's garage door lubricant technique (another comment posted here). Perfect- pressed right in, nice tight fit, no leaks.

          Easy fit lol
These just suck, putting the tuber on is no easier or harder than regular barbed couplers and unlike barbed couplers, once it's on there is no removing it without ruining the integrity of the coupler. The end plug is great at first but after a while, they wear out. Flushed my system maybe 3 or 4 times over 2 years and the caps started coming out while watering. Id recommend sticking with the cheaper barbed couplers, they wont fail you

All it takes is a little common sense
I too, experienced all of the frustrations mentioned below and my solution was just to use a little common sense ..... I sprayed the tube end with some garage door lube I had on hand ..... easy, peasy slipped right on.
