will this go in the rain bird riser connection kit ?

I have been trying this to go in the rain bird riser connection kit. It is very hard and am not sure if it requires a lot of force as I tried many times but won't go in. Also let me know if another 1/2" tubing will work better with riser connection kit.
Asked by: Ash
This product will fit any application that uses 1/2" diameter tubing. If not, you can always use reducers to make a perfect fit.

1/2 in. x 100 ft. Drip Irrigation Tubing Coil is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 137.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mislabeled product size! Rainbird has gone downhill I bought this, took it home and tried to patch my irrigation system. Struggled an hour in the heat to get the fittings to work. After a trip to Lowe's to get better working fittings than the irritating new style with hard plastic housing Rainbird has created (you need vise grips and huge biceps to get the fittings to stay on the tubing), found that the tubing is really 5/8" not 1/2" as labeled.Hoping that the store will refund me even though I cut a bunch off this coil. Rainbird is an over-rated company that should have stuck to the original products that really worked.

The tubing is curved and flattened out and consequently it did not work with my existing connectors. They just wouldn't go in. (See photo of rainbird connector which I bought at home depot and the blue tipped connector which used to work with old hose but not with this hose) tried with both 5/8th and 1/2" connectors I bought at home depot. I brought in a cut piece of hose and connectors back to home depot and 2 different employees couldnt get it to work either. Next day I went to retail garden drip supply place and bought other connectors and got it to connect. The guy there also suggested soaking it in hot water to make hose more flexible. Sorry I don't have pic of that connector. It is skinny and barebones - just what I needed.

It came to my home kinked. It appears in the picture to be shiny and flexible like rubber or silicone.... WRONG! It is dull and stiff like cheap plastic. Also, its inside diameter is much to big... I've had to use electrical tape on the 1/2 inch connectors just to get a snug fit. Its rigid, it kinks, and it isn't sized correctly.... I am no longer buying "Rain Bird" products and I suggest you head my warning.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Defective I purchased a roll of the tubing, hand dug trenches, plumbed fittings, and I noticed a kink in the line. I looked closely at the tubing, and I found in-line emitters in the poly pipe. In random places. 20 to 30 feet is perfect pipe, and 20 feet has drip emitters in it. Main problem for this, is that some of the emitters are in the trench under the lawn. Recommendation for this product if it is without emitters. Will be happy with drip emitters if that is what I needed, and might be fine for a garden. Rainbird offered discount on my next online order. Thanks to them for that

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drip Pipe Bought two rolls. Easy to install. Used an ice pick to puncture the small hole for the attachment of the drip tubing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality product, used in above-ground application. Can sustain minor damage without leakage After searching on the web and going to physical irrigation stores, I decided this product was the best price for our application. I had some minor trouble in the laying process, the tubing didn't lay straight enough for all of my emitters to end up facing the same direction. I've had the product for about a year, and it is still in the field. I did not notice any damage from rodents, nor from the sun. My advice is to test out fittings before buying them. I had a very difficult time finding the right fit -- other brands didn't fit snugly, I even went to other hardware stores and back to the irrigation store, to no avail. I ended up getting compression fittings by RainBird, which had to be ordered -- through Home Depot. They were available within 2 days. I should have done this in the beginning, as it would have saved much time and headache. As stated in the title, there were a couple of incidences of slight depressions to the tubing (beginning to place emitters in the wrong location/direction). These places did not leak, and are not noticeable. The plastic is rigid, and the RainBird emitter puncturer is a bit too weak/small. I recommend a handheld tool with a metal tip, especially if you are installing hundreds of emitters!

Just laid out 300 ft of this to soften and found that the strapping used to keep the coils together had created many, many kinks from being put on too tightly. Hoping that after softening I'll be able to squeeze each one to get it back to an open cross-section (and it will stay that way); if not, it's useless. And even if it does return to an earlier 'memory' of tubing shape, I shouldn't have to do this step.

Would be nice if Home Depot carried the connectors (going between hose thread and this pipe) regularly. When I first purchased the 1/2 in tubing, there was a plentiful supply of the connectors. A couple weeks later I could find none. A few weeks after that there were some other brand of connected (which worked) in a different location. That said, the tubing does the job without any problem with the tubing itself. The connectors, surprisingly (they just push on), don't leak.
