Q:I would like to use this rock as a base on which to set raised garden beds, so they don't sit directly on the ground. How many bags would I need to fill a trench 6 inches deep by 6 inches wide. Linear feet around the garden bed is 24 feet (4' x 8').

Color mismatch all over
Bought 35 bags and about 26-27 were actually black, the rest were a very light grey with white speckles. My back yard looks terrible. Home Depot manager told me they cannot guarantee color and asked me why I put the gravel down if it didn’t match. Don’t bother with this gamble, it’s not worth it

Not black
The price was great and filled in the spots I needed very well. HOWEVER no way is this black. At best it’s a light to medium gray. I used it to fill in bare spots. I’m not happy with the look. My fault for not returning it

Not black but light gray
Not even close to black. Closer to white. The gravel (small rocks; not gravel) is bagged wet with dust so it looks dark gray. You dump it on the ground, and then when it dries, it turns a light gray. This is such an overpriced scam.

Perfect Gravel for My Project
Bought 2 bags to add to area around outside yard hydrant that had recently been replaced. They are a manageable size, not too heavy or big for a 64 yr old woman to sling around. The gravel grade is "decorative" - a smaller size, easier to apply and spread, looks very nice. Priced right too! Definitely satisfied with my purchase.

Perfect color and size rock for my path
I wanted white rock, not pea gravel, and not too large. This worked great. It seems the white rock gets better reviews than the other colors, so if you are considering white, you should be good to go with this product.

Beautiful for my garden
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was remodeling my backyard and this beautiful black gravel looks amazing in my garden, I now have my own special little getaway in my own yard and these little features are some of my favorite. I water my pants over it and it looks so beautiful against my plants and the green and blues in my garden. I like it more than the multicolored gravel I chose for some of the other parts even!

not gravel
HD photos do not reflect what you receive. I was anticipating a stone or gravel as photo shows on the left and what I have. What I received were pebbles, small and not black; what the photo shows on the right. These are not decorative as online photo shows. They are not artful or crafty. These are not worth the value when you can buy the same pebble bagged for $4.98 at HD. I do not recommend.
