AnswersYou can unscrew the small grate on top. BTW the barrels don't come with the white gutter attachment as shown in the picture.

Overall the barrels are good, but when I opened the boxes, the barrels were very disorganized. The holes that were cut in the top, dropped to the bottom of the barrel as well as the shavings. Very sloppy and unprofessional job. Paid a lot of money for the barrels and to see the sloppy work was pretty discouraging.
