Yes. They come in 5’ lengths and are basically aluminum mini blinds with spacers. A good set of sheet metal shears will work just fine. Here’s a picture of my five year old rain-handlers working in a current downpour...
They do not attach to the roofing, they attach to the fascia.
I’ve had a set for about five years now, they do spread the runoff out so it doesn’t dig a trench and they don’t get clogged like gutters. Proper gutters and downspouts are by far the best in a perfect world, but these do exactly what is advertised, spread out the splash.
I have not problem with hard or soft rain off the eaves. Water gushing from the valley is another question. In that area 8" rain handlers would be better and I do not think they make them.
As long as you have a vertical surface on which to attach the clips, and the runoff will hit the blades, it should work ok.
Yes, use a metal paint such as enamel.
Na
They do not appear to be anodized, looks like mill finish, "natural" aluminum. I have not mounted them yet, so I can't speak to how they will weather or age.
1 package with 2 extra sections would do. You can buy only one section at a time, but I'd just buy two boxes of the 25' 5 packs.
We’ve had it on our Colorado house for over two years. It’s handled heavy snow with no damage. Didn’t fare so well against golf ball sized hail, but because it comes in short lengths, we only had to replace the damaged sections instead of whole runs.
