No Ductwork? No Problem. Ramsond Ductless (Duct-Free) Mini Split Air Conditioning Systems can be installed in virtually any location. Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioners are also referred to as Zone Systems. They cool/heat the zone or areas in which they are installed. When the zone is in use, the mini split system can be turned on. When the zone is not in use, you can simply turn it off. This zone capability allows for substantial energy savings. Ramsond Heat Pump systems not only provide cooling during the hot summer months, but also provide efficient heating for the winter. They are far more efficient and substantially more economical compared to conventional central air conditioning systems. Ductless Mini Split systems are comprised of two main components: 1) The outdoor unit (Condensing Unit), and 2) The indoor unit (Evaporator Unit). The installation is simple. The indoor unit hangs on a metal bracket (supplied) that attaches to the interior wall, much like a picture frame. A 3 in. hole is then drilled through the wall. The Line set and communication wires are passed through this hole and connect the indoor and outdoor unit together. The Main power is supplied to the outdoor unit. The indoor unit draws its power from the outdoor unit. The system is operated by a wireless remote control (supplied). Simply set the remote control to the desired temperature and the system maintains the desired temperature.

A good unit
As someone in the hvac field, I chose this unit because I liked the look, price was pretty good and the warranty is good compared to most of these popular units. Though its a 16 seer, it came with quality products to install and easy to install with the tools needed to do it right. Units working g great, quiet, very pleased.

I bought a RAMSOND 18,000 BTU in 2015. It installed ok, but the electric circuit boards inside were NOT wrapped/protected from moisture and mold so they eventually shorted out. That's pretty bad, but what makes the situation unbearable is that RAMSOND does NOT keep replacement parts in stock more than a few years (in other words, when the warranty runs out). So now I'm out $1500 because I can't buy a lousy $30 part. Even professional A/C repair companies can't fix it without the part. Horrible company. I am including the proof email from RAMSOND.

Not sure how product operates. Can't get it to work.
WE purchased item on 11/30/12. It is now 1/24/13 and still awaiting to see ir product will work. Have paid over 600 to repair men to install and get unit running. Am now awaiting on air compressor unit from factory as this one was locked up from the box. Would like to recoup my 600 but i'm sure that is doubtful. I really can't recommend this product for the sheer fact that it hasn't worked yet. Thankfully we have an alternative heat source. We purchased this mini split heat unit from home depot trying to save money and now it's going to cost more than purchasing it fromi Air conditioning place. My mistake. Had the product been working as it was supposed to have been out of the box this would have been a pleasant and money saving adventure. I hope I win this 1000 dollars . Picture is of our remote which we had to send back to get another. That was step one of this process with many more and I'm sure more to come.

We have an 8 yr old 18000 BTU Ramsond unit purchased through Home Depot and it needs an evaporator. Unfortunately, according to Ramsond, they have stopped supplying this part for this model. So we will have to replace the entire unit. We will probably buy a well-known brand like Mitsubishi. Beware of a company that doesn't support it's products.

After installation and learning how the remote works, the unit works great. I did all of the electrical with the help of a licensed electrician I know. Finding an a.c. company to complete the job was the hardest part. Why on earth Home depot chooses not to offer installation for a product they sell makes no sense to me. You're literally on your own. The whole thing cost me about $2500, but all the local a.c. companies wanted $3500 for the same size unit with installation (LG, and Mitsubishi 1.5 ton units). Those guys use the big box stores as finance companies. All in all I think I made the right choice.

You get what you pay for
We bought this unit on July of 2013 for our office. The first year the unit worked fine, but after the first year the unit started to lose freon and the unit started to spit out water. We had unit maintained every year, because it would loose freon. Finally this summer I had our mechanical contractor look at the unit and it has a leak at the coils of the unit. The product only has a 1 year warranty. Now we are off to buy another unit. This time we will be looking for a unit with a minimum of a 5 year warranty.

Never worked properly and no support from the company to correct.
Once installed, the unit would not work continuously. It would work for a short period of time and then reflect an error on the display. Had to turn off the power to the unit and leave off for a period of time. Once turned back on, it would again work for a short period of time and then stop working. My AC company has tried to get support from the manufacturer, but they were told that the company quit making these units and basically they could not do anything for them. I have personally called the tech hotline and they have been of no help. There must have been some problem with the units, or the company would not have stopped making them. If this is the case, they should have contacted their customers and/or did a recall. I am in the process of having to buy another unit and I can guarantee it will not be a Ramsond.

Not bad
The product came within a week after I ordered it. I think the directions were very generic and if I had not watched you-tube several times on how to install I could not have install it myself. You need to be some what handy to install.

Easy AC fix for space without ductwork
I have an office with very high ceilings, but no duct work. Tried an wall mounted unit, as well as a portable unit. Neither of them worked well. This easy to install ductless mini split unit is powerful, quiet and unobtrusive. Good value for the money spent, even with the installation costs.
