EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO APPLY THIS! Not for diy
Do not apply water as per box instructions!! Make the mixture runny enough to give you time to spread and broom finish. As you can see in the picture the middle step I used a concrete broom. Paint brush gives even color when dry. If you use a broom make sure to pass it once! If you dnt you are going to get color difference in the finished concrete and the 2nd step from top you can see the separation. I would follow back 5 min later ( should be semi dry) with a wet brush as u can see in 3rd step.

Not happy
As far as the mixing process I found that 3 qts 6oz was the best. Application wasn’t bad at all with one person mixing and using a squeegee. You have to work fast as most said I would smooth out two passes as wide as my squeegee 16ft long then I’d run the broom across it. Once I was done it looked great BUT as soon as it tried the spots that I used the top n bond showed through and it’s about to cost me a lot of money to replace 10 ft of the slab. Not happy at all.

Excellent product.
Wow. I took a chance.
1. One pouring. One squeegeeing. . One cleaning. There are no rocks in mix. Rock dried mix from tools.
2. Concrete not too wet. Causes discoloration. No direct sun. No rain. No water after application.
3. Mix to proper consistency.

Bad information provided
I called the representative for the product and asked an important question. Will it stick to the product called slab that I filled my cracks with. I was told absolutely not a problem. Here are the results...I wish that I would have know so I didn't waste my time and my money using it. You would think the company would know the answer to a simple question on their product.

This is a good product that provides good results, but it takes a little practice/experience and the right tools to get a good job.
The material sets up a little faster than the product documentation identifies. It says it is workable for 30 minutes, but I found that even in my temperatures which were a little under 70 degrees, it was getting difficult to work with after 20 minutes. So work in small batches. Spread it quickly to the desired thickness (large steel trowel), then spend the time to smooth the surface. I also found I needed to add about 10% more water than recommended to get the work-ability of the material to obtain the 1/8 skim thickness.
The surface coloring can be a challenge to get uniform. I found you get any surface water after finishing/smoothing, the white pigment will be concentrated in those areas. Using a large moist sponge (as used for grouting) with a light touch allowed for the removal of excess moisture and smoothing trowel lines.
All in all, a good product, but it will be challenging for anyone without concrete finishing experience and tools.

We just refinished our entire front door landing using Newcrete. The product was applied according to the instructions. Once dried it was splotchy and looked totally uneven. Also any leaves that fell on it, even though it was dry, turned the landing yellow in various areas. I contacted Rapid Set, an agent came to take a look, but their manager told them that they would not fix their faulty product on my home by coming out and applying another layer. I was told that it was our fault for faulty applications even though we adhered to the instructions and power washed the entire area and applied exactly according to the directions. I am disappointed with their product and customer service. Stay away. Now the entrance of my home looks horrible. I would not recommend this product or a company that doesn't stand behind their faulty product.

Go’s on great, trick is thin coat and build a form, makes spreading a breeze, I will be giving it a 2nd coat, I went a little thick at the and where there was a low spot at a joint where it met the driveway, a thin coat will fill in imperfection. Tip best to use a mixer on a drill to get a smooth mix. Drys fast but had enough time to work it.
Now to see how it holds up.

The only reason why I did not rate the product with 5 star is because I read the directions and it says to add 2.5 quarts of water and unless I measured it wrong it was not enough water and I had to add a little more to get it flowing on the concrete. My wife did the majority of the work and she loves how it looks.
