Will this be ok to level dips in lawn using topsoil?

While that is a possibility, depending on how large an area or the dip you might check your local Home Depot or their rental center for a lawn roller to make life easier.

Height should not be an issue, you do not need to hold it from the top. Grab anywhere on the handle that you are comfortable.

Can a round barbell weight about 10-15lbs be welded for better tamping... Or will it b too much for the handle?

At 14.3 lbs already, it's heavy enough. Adding additional weight would help increase the compaction, based upon the additional amount of weight. This would increase your arm muscles 10 fold, however tire you out faster. The roundness would make uneven corners. Good idea though, maybe purchase a heavier Tamper. Look at the item specifications for weight.

Where is this made?

Rent the gas power unit, this tool is more for leveling the dirt underneath before you pour your new slab.

Hi. Yes, this will damage your pavestone. (It's mainly for compacting dirt, sand and crushed rock). You should rent a plate compactor from Home Depot. Let them know what your using it for. I don't know for sure, but there may be different plates for the compactor.

So glad I bought this!
I was making a gravel pad for a shed and was really struggling to make the ground level. After doing some research online I decided I needed to tamp the ground. I looked around and Home Depot and finally decided on this one due to the design and price. This thing worked perfectly. It was the perfect weight to pack down the ground but wasn’t too heavy that it was difficult to use. The grip handle was great and I didn’t get any blisters or anything. I am currently searching for more products around the house so I can use it again.

This is a good product to tamp new top soil and grass sod pieces. It is a great product to strengthen your arms, it has to have weight to tamp and it will get to your arms and lower back and I am 71. Getting a new and larger shed and have an extremely sloped back yard, so brought in top soil to level out the area for the shed. I didn't think I could get large rental tamper out of my pickup, so this was my alternative. It worked because when the shed installers came in they complimented me on how level I had gotten the installation area using this tamper.
