    Answer This Question

A:  The blade is stamped from what appears to be 1/16th inch steel. That would be about 15 gauge I believe.

A:  The gauge for this shovel blade is 14.

        Answer This Question

A:  Tip not as pointy and rounded shape makes it hard to step on. Don't buy this one. Buy one with the pointier tip and the ledge to put feet on. Price is the same.

A:  I wouldn't think it would remove rocks unless they were very small. There is not much room on the top of the blade to use your foot to dig.

          by|May 4, 2021

A:  It may get through some really depends on how tight it still is.. May want to keep a pick are near by just in case.

          by|Apr 30, 2021

A:  No -- this is just a narrow blade shovel.

            Excellent Sprinkler Tool
This is a tool every person whether you are in the business of installing or repairing a sprinkler system or if you are a homeowner with a sprinkler system. This tool makes it so much easier to dig a small trench to install pvc pipe instead of using a shovel to make a bigger mess that is not needed. This tool lets you do the job not only easier, but neater. No need to dig bigger or larger holes when you can just about dig a hole a litter wider than the pvc pipe. This tools allows your yard to grow back the areas that were disturbed quicker. Also very easy to store!! Excellent tool!!

            Foot slips off the side
This shovel can be difficult to work with in highly compact or hard soil conditions such as clay, rocky soils or drought stricken areas. The rear lip of the shovel, where you would normally place your foot to provide downward force, is only 1 inch wide and curved downward, so it is difficult to get any leverage. While trenching shovels are primarily used as cleanout shovels and should not require much leverage, certain soil conditions do still need a bit of extra force to get the blade buried deep (even in soil that has been loosened by a trencher or sharpshooter). What I liked about this shovel is the curve of the blade, the width which is perfect for a single piece of conduit, and the nice long length of the hardwood handle. If it had adjustable foot pegs that could slide up and down on the handle, this would be a perfect shovel! I may try and fashion something to it to see if I can’t salvage this tool

Pretty good but I wish it had a place to step on it like a spade shovel has.
