Excellent tool. I do quite a bit of land shaping of fire pits, gardens, etcetera and this tool is a great addition to my arsenal. In my case, I often have to battle with blue clay, which is miserable soil to man handle. Often this clay will challenge a rototiller, let alone hand tools. I put a 28 foot by 3 foot shrubbery bed in yesterday. Yep, all clay and I couldn't use a rototiller because of an oil furnace feed line embedded with a parallel home grounding system, so I used my old faithful pick ax and this Versa-Pick. The Versa-Pick worked like a charm and I couldn't have been happier with it's performance as after plunging the curved end of the Versa-Pick into the clay, it scooped out a pile. Old faithful doesn't do that. Made the day a lot easier. I can see using the pick end of the Versa-Pick in rocky soil, to break it up for the scoop end. Really nice and affordable addition for dirt lovers.

This Razorback 5.5 pound Versa-Pick does a great job. The point of the pick is longs and shaped to make the most of every swing. The extra large maddox blades makes clearing out the dirt that has been broken loose by the pick end. The weight does the work for you. The fiberglass handle is comfortable and works well in my hands. There is no slippage or twisting. When digging in non clay dirt the wide blade opens up a lot of dirt very quickly.

RAZOR-BACK VERSA, a Pick and a trowel in one-Mattock. So you can pick compacted ground and scoop away the soil. Has all the basic features; a 5.5 lb. steel head, 34 in. fiberglass handle with overstrike protection. Head to handle has a reinforced pin for improved safety. Now the best use would be for digging trenches, use the pick to loosen the soil, and use the wide scoop end to pull away the soil/scoop it up. My first real use was digging up the septic tanks opening, about 2 feet down and just as wide. worked like a charm, weight of the tool made it easy to pick deep into the ground without having to use a full swing. The scoop made fast work of pulling the soil away, we did also use a shovel here and there. Handle is comfortable and well build.

Rain water would run off the roof of my barn & puddle at it's footing. I used this Razor-Back Versa-Pick to dig out a shallow trench, from my barn to the nearby creek. With just one swing into the grass & dry dirt, the trowel head bit down clear up to the handle. I levered the handle to raise up the trowel head, that was filled with dirt & sod. I used the pick to dislodge rocks in the path of the trench, then used the trowel end to clear them out of the trench. Using just this one tool to make this trench, saved me a lot of time & work. The pick point is very sharp & hard. The trowel head is also very sharp, hard & with it's broad 6" wide face x 8" deep bite, I moved a lot of dirt in a short time. The 34" long fiberglass handle gave me the leverage to sink this 8.39 lb. overall weight pick, deep into the dirt. The handle has a 12" long rubberized ribbed coating at one end, that gave me a secure non slip grip for my sweaty hands. The end of the handle has a slight flare that also prevents the handle from slipping out of my grip. A toughened material surrounds the handle, next to head, to prevent damage to the handle from an over strike. This is a massive, great tool!

Heavy Duty
This is definitely a versatile pick,The pick side is like any normal pick but the hoe or spade side is awesome. It is almost as wide as a small shovel and can move a lot of earth. It is a little heavier than a normal pick and because of the weight it penetrates the earth better. The handle is a patented rubber and fiberglass with a steel locking system that comes with a lifetime warranty. The head is cast and then painted black. This is one of those tools that is well made and should last you for years.

I bought this tool for a 40’ retaining wall project. It helped me break through thick root-bound soil. Just a small back swing buries the digging end and allows you to lever out the loosened soil and scoop it out of the trench. The pointy end is great for dislodging larger stones. Great tool

Simply the perfect tool for excavating trenches and moving soil around on landscape projects. I particularly appreciate the tool's heft because it lets the pick side drive deeply into compacted soil or tree roots which helps break these materials up for easier removal.

thru the years, garden equipment is bought, knowing that it will wear out, break.... This pick/mattock... whatever you want to call it.... is going to last my lifetime. Well made, I have used in in sandy soil, clay, root bound ground, it cuts thru anything I have gone after. the spade portion is very hefty, wide enough to get big bites, heavy enough that you do not have to Babe Ruth it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who works the land

This thing is heavy! I used it to start digging a trench, then I realized the job is too much for me (a grandmother). I think the tool is well-made and a good one for digging a trench.

In Asia and Africa this tool is very very popular but in Europe or both American continent nowhere to found. I was so excited to see this and order immediately. Quality as best as you can get. Heavy duty industrial. Only the width part should be little more wider. Thanks Razor- back and home depot for thinking out of the box.whoever know or use this tool, can’t leave without it.
