Anchors needed to hang heavy mirror on brick

Asked by Debra February 16, 2016

That's quite a mirror. The best fastener to use to mount that sort of object depends upon the characteristics of the brick. If the brick is soft, using a fastener that is this short might just pop a chunk out of the brick. It might be best to use longer fasteners, one way or the other, in order to spread the forces over a larger area (maybe 2 to 2.5 inches). Something to consider whenever your mounting into brick, you might want to see if you can position the object to drill into the mortar and not the brick itself. This allows for easier repair if things change in the future.

How much weight can it hold?

Don't really know. I use them for things < 20 lbs.
