These are a great temporary solution. Do not expect complete blackout but just enough. I purchased these to put behind my current blinds in the bedroom during the summer time. Combined with my current blinds, I get complete blackout. By themselves, they still provide a good level of shade or darkness but not complete blackout. The great thing about these shades is that they are easy to cut to size and install. I used a cutter to customize the size for our window frame which only took a few seconds. To hang them all you need to do is peel back adhesive strip and press, so easy. I recommend these only if your'e looking for a temporary solution or to install them behind your current shades/curtains. They have definitely helped keep the bedroom cooler.

Needed something to cover windows in new construction home while wood blinds were being ordered. The paper blinds do not stick to the wall texture. Constantly falling down. Had to use painter's tape to hold up. Must re-tape daily. The weight of the blind pulls it off the window. They blow from the breeze of the ceiling fans making them no longer room darkening. Threw away half of them. Clips come with, so no need to buy clips as I did. No where does it state that the clips come with them.

We moved into a new house that had no window coverings so we ordered the room darkening shades to get us thru the first month or so. Easy to install after we cut to size. Looks great on all my windows!

These blinds do the job without a lot of expense. They are in a spare bedroom so basically for looks! Great value and extra set for later.
