Perfect for shelving grow rack
Great stuff! It's like a heavy duty mylar covered bubble wrap. No issues with the silver layer peeling. I cut and measured panels of this for a plastic/resin shelf unit I got at HD for $20, and poked a hole with scissors here and there through the wrap so I could attach it to the shelf with zip ties. I also made a closure panel in the front by only attaching the top of it to the rack, this way I can roll it up when I need to water or use the fan on my seedlings, then roll it back down. The lighting is the Feit 32 watt 2ft LED unit with the 3 different light settings, one over each shelf, drilled a hole in the center of each side of the shelf undercarriage and suspended the lights with zip ties. Anyhow, this mylar wrap bounces the light all over in there, and keeps the grow rack a nice toasty 85°when fully enclosed by the front panel being down. Excellent investment!

Very easy to install. This product went in just under the graphite foam board in a garage extension ceiling laundry room between the 2 x 6's with a little air gap, used a T50 stapler and it went in very easily. With moth products in I am getting a great heat savings in this cool weather, and it will keep the heat out un the summer. I really like this product. Using both is lightweight, works quite well, and looks terrific in the shop.

This is my review so far. 10/11/2020 I purchased This Reflectix 16 in. X 100 ft. Double Reflective Insulation roll with staple tab edge, to insulate a porch that is is 10 ft deep, by 20 ft. across. I opened my first roll of 6 rolls that ordered. I started cutting the roll into 10 ft lengths, and was expecting to have 10 rolls when I was done. HOWEVER, When I got to the last piece, of the roll, I was thinking I SHOULD have a 10 foot length to finish off the 100 ft. roll. Because, 10 X 10 ft lengths divided by a 100 foot roll, should come out even. RIGHT? WRONG!!!!!!! It was 2 ft short, I have an 8 foot piece left over??? How did that happen??? SO??? NOW>>>> I have 9 rolls @ 10 feet, 1 roll @ 8 feet... and NOT enough to finish my project. I THOUGHT bought enough to do THE WHOLE project.... NOT Almost the whole project!!! If You do a little more simple math, 2ft short per roll on the 6 rolls I bought 2 ft X 6 rolls = A Total of 12 feet SHORT!!! That Equates to a full joist run plus a bit from another short??? NOW? Should I Have to make up for it??? HOW, does that happen ??? I ordered the 6 rolls @ 100 feet each, , for delivery... I had it all shipped to my home, to be able to work on it this weekend. I am NO WHERE NEAR a Home Depot, Hence the DELIVERY... So I can NOT just Run out for another, ONE roll, either... and what??? SO I can spend another 50 bucks more for a full roll, ...only to use 10 feet? I already ORDERED, Had Shipped and PAID for WHAT I NEEDED! Not what the People @ Reflectix seemed to think... would be close enough! I guess MY thought is, IF you are going to RIP PEOPLE OFF, ... be a nice bunch and At least have the decency to throw in a disclaimer in your header, that states something like this, "Due to the fact WE can not be bothered by Quality control... The rolls We advertise as 100 feet, are actually only Approximately 100ft, give or take a few feet. We recommend that, Just So you are able to complete your project hassle free, you might want to order an extra roll @ 50 bucks a pop! "

Until I replace my old, old windows, this is the best insulation I've found that is easy to use and durable. The product is inexpensive and easy to use. I wish the height was double from 16 in to 32 in for my taller windows. It was very easy to double it by taping it together to make the height that I needed. I'm buying another roll for my water heater, crawl space and one more for my parents as a Christmas gift.

I used this product to insulate some distribution boxes used in a return air handling system I built for my house. Feels very durable and installed great with a stapler. Taped the seams and was good to go. Highly recommend.

INSULATING MISS BINKY'S CAT HOUSE. The outdoor pet house I purchased for my Cat (Miss Binky) wouldn't hold heat during the winter even with 40 watt light fixture in the house fed by a GFI outlet. I could feel the heat escaping through the plastic walls. To correct this I purchased a 16" x 25' roll of Reflectix and installed the product on the interior of the cat house which corrected the problem as most of the heat from the light bulb is now trapped inside the cathouse. I used Liquid Nails FUZ-IT to glue the Reflectix to the walls. The installation was easy and resembled working with a fabric. Even though I'm fairly inept, the project came out fine and Miss Binky has a warm place to spend the winter. I'll be at my Daughter's house tomorrow insulating her dog house for "Panda".

I'm installing this currently to add some R-value in a cathedral ceiling prior to insulation. Testing joist temperature with IR thermometer, and this product is dropping the temp 10-15 degrees F in direct sun. I was a little skeptical before I started; now I'm glad I used it. I stapled in the middle as well to ensure a snug fit, as I will be leaving a 1" gap for ventilation to ridge rafter, and didn't want product to sag.

Easy to install on HVAC hard ducts when using the foil tape. I cut 17" lengths, wrapped loosely enough to slide/rotate around duct. gave a little push and did another. Taped around joined ends and seams and repeated. I could push 10 ft of straight 6" duct with no problem. Bends are a bit of work to cover if they're tight and you don't remember your geometry. Mine were those hard rotatable sections and they turned out not neat -- but covered. Served my needs well and BIG difference in temperature of duct with A/C on. I don't want A/C to cool my basement- now it's all going up to the living areas. A/C cycles off much quicker.

This is my second review since I completed the project. On a blazing hot sunny day it was very hot inside the aluminum skinned shed. You can feel the heat radiating down from the roof. As you moved under the roof to where the product was installed it was like walking under a shade tree. As one complained about the tbs, it takes a little learning curve on how to get the staple table to work. On the first side that you folded over to staple, place the staple close to the edge of the product and staple several feet on one side only. This gives you a little slack to grab the other side to get the staple tab started. The tab is about one inch on each side. This 12x24 foot shed took six rolls of 16"x100' of product including the ceiling. In the photo the shop lights are the Commercial Electric 4 ft. White LED Linkable Shop Light purchased at Home Depot.

A real nice product. I using this in an non-insulated prefab storage shed. In South Florida intense heat, humidity and sun on the aluminum siding acts like an oven on the inside. Reflecting the heat was more efficient than trying to insulate it with 3.5 inches of fiberglass. The fiberglass would act like a sponge and not allow the walls to breathe. The project is not complete but it does go in very easy. This is nearly identical to the solar reflective panels you can buy for your vehicle windshield. There is a similar product in the attic space of my home stapled to the roof rafters and it really keeps the temperature down so I know this product will work. My only complaint is HD should carry this product in its stores.
