This review is for the Rejuvenate Disposer & Pipe Cleaner, Citrus Scent, Model # RJ6DPC-CITRUS, which I was given a chance to check out. The package holds six pods of cleaner; instructions say to use one pod every week to keep the garbage disposer clean. It's not designed to clear clogs. It's important to follow the instructions, which includes running hot water through the disposer while it's running. I'm not overly fond of that - disposer motors are cooled by the water running through them and hot water doesn't do that very well. However, the run is only for 10 seconds, so the heat buildup will be minimal. After running the hot water for a minute, I reduced the flow to "pencil thin", placed the pod in the disposer and fired it up. Nothing. No foam, no splash, nothing. I noted that the instructions say that the pod "may" foam up, not that it will absolutely do so. In my case, it did not. There was a fairly strong citrus smell when opening the package but after using one of the pods there wasn't any citrus smell coming from the disposer. I decided to give it another go, and the second time was more successful - the foam came billowing up and there was a stronger citrus smell in the sink after the procedure. The disposer is about two years old and this is the first commercial cleaner I've run through it, so it may have needed more cleaning than the first pod could do; at any rate, the second pod worked as advertised. I used a flashlight to check out, as best I could, the disposer innards and it certainly looks clean - but it didn't appear to be dirty before the procedure so the "action" on the second pod may have been more in the parts of the disposer that can't be seen from peering into the sink. I checked the disposer manufacturer website and they do advise cleaning, but do not recommend any specific commercial cleaner. Lemons, peaches, baking soda, borax - all are mentioned on the web as good remedies for dirty disposers (ice cubes are frequently mentioned as well). I think the advantage that the Rejuvenate pods offer is simply convenience; it's not that the "home remedy" types of cleaners don't work, it's just that with Rejuvenate you can toss one in and be done, no need to get out ice or cut up a lemon, etc. I checked with The Boss and she feels that since the pods seem to work as advertised and since the cost per treatment is so low and since I never remember to buy lemons that the Rejuvenate rates 5 stars. I never argue with The Boss. There's a one-year warranty on the cleaner, and Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy. HTH Regards, Jim

This packed from Rejuvenate includes 6 packets (similar to dishwasher and washing detergent pods but larger). The instructions are very clear on the back of the pack, turn on the hot water, reduce the flow to a pencil stream width, insert pod, turn on garbage disposal for 10 seconds, then let hot water continue to rinse for 30 more seconds. I was expecting to see the foaming action coming from the drain but nothing. I have 3/4 HP garbage disposal and I heard the packet being ground up in a matter of seconds, I think because of the power of my disposal it didn't work well the first time around. I repeated the process with another packet but ran the disposal in a pulsating fashion and was able to achieve the foaming action. There are 6 packets in a pack, and they recommend using 1 a week. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering. I didn't have any nasty food smells the following days after using.

Easy to use garbage disposal cleaner. The packaging has very thorough and easy to understand instructions. Cleaner packets are quite large and slide into the disposal with ease. Packets are not meant to be opened beforehand. The package states they are great for septic systems. I like using this product because I hate a smelly disposal. Just run your disposal first, then some water and throw one of the packets in there. Foams up as it cleans.

MY FIRST TRY WITH THIS PRODUCT WAS TO USE ON A SINK WITH OUT A HAVING A GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND THAT THE WATER WAS GOING DOWN VERY SLOW. I WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE THAT THE RESULTS OF PRODUCT WAS VERY GOOD. IT SEEMED TO LOOSEN UP WHAT EVER IT WAS THAT WAS CAUSING THE SINK TO DRAIN SLOW. I THEN USED IT ON ANOTHER SINK WITH A GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND FOUND THAT IT ELIMINATED THE MILDEW AND MOLD ODOR SINCE IT WORKS WE WILL BE USING THIS PRODUCT OFTEN.

Clean scent.
This pack of six pods are easy to use to clean your disposal and pipes in your kitchen. The instructions are easy to follow. As long as you don't have any clogs, you just run some hot water to the side of the disposal, drop in a pot and watch the orange foam expand and clean both sides of the sink. The pods are self contained, so there's no mess. It has a nice scent. Almost smells like Tang. Says to use it once a week to maintain a clean disposal.

Cleans a disposal well
Not a whole lot to say about these neat little purple pouches. Basically, you start the water following into the sink, run the disposal a bit and then turn it off. Next, toss in the purple pouch, and flip the disposal back on. Now, watch as purple foam starts riding right out of all your drains. It foams incredibly well, suggesting that it’s doing a great job cleaning. After running it long enough for all the foam to disappear, I did notice that my sink and drain smelled considerably better. Aside from peering into the disposable with a flash light, smell was the best way I had of determining how clean it is now. Overall, I think it did a very good job, certainly better than the liquid disposal cleaners.

Orange you glad you use this?
So I originally got this thinking it was for clogged or nearly clogged drains, so I was initially disappointed when I realized this was only for cleaning out your sink's garbage disposal and any gunk in the pipes. With that said, this review is based on what it is supposed to do. First of all, we don't put a lot of food down our drain and when we do, we almost always run the disposal right away so nothing sits there. That said, there has been a couple of times where we have noticed a smell so I'm familiar with what this product is supposed to do. When I ran my test, there was no smell coming from the disposal, but when I ran the packet through the disposal (following the various directions), foam did come up through both drains along with pleasant citrus scent. However, an hour later, I can't say that I noticed any continuing citrus scent emanating from my sink (or any smell for that matter) so this seems like just a short term usage impact type of thing (like spraying a FeBreeze). Whether or not it cleaned the pipes is impossible for me to tell, but I imagine it had some type of positive impact. In summary, the packaging recommends using this once a week which I will probably do until it's gone, but not sure if I will buy more when I'm out. So a modest thumbs up, but nothing to write home about at least in my case. Enjoy the action shots! :)

Easy to use, Foaming action helps maintain clog free disposal and drains, Lavender scent doesn't last long
The lavender scent disposer and pipe cleaner by Rejuvenate is easy to use - run slow stream of water down the side of the sink, add the tab and run the disposal, watch it foam, and rinse. The tabs are about the size and the width of a Ford key fob. The lavender smell didn't last as long as I thought it would. The instructions also say using this product will assist in the maintenance of the disposal and pipes; it will not work on clogged drains. I tried it on a clogged disposal drain with eggshells and it doesn't remove a clog whatsoever - so this indeed true, the tabs are intended for maintenance and not clog removal.

No Citrus Scent
The instructions on the package are clear and easy to follow. I opened the package containing the packets and noticed a rather unpleasant smell. Not the citrus or orange smell I was expecting. I followed the instructions and placed a packet of the cleaner in my disposer. See Photo. I only noticed a little foam form in the disposer. There was no orange or citrus smell that I could detect. In fact the product itself had a decidedly unpleasant smell. I tried another packet, carefully following the package directions. I got the same results with the same unpleasant smell. The positive was this smell quickly went away and I was left with no scent.
