A better and safer option is to use a longer power cord from the generator to the switch. I placed mine within the 18 inches recommended. I was lucky that I could place my outdoor plug in box within 4 feet of the transfer switch.
If you mean you have gfci circuits in your main panel then yes it will work with them.
You can use this Transfer Switch with any 10 circuits in your main panel. You can only use one 30 amp double poll breaker on circuits A and B only. (That's because those wires are 10 gauge) The other eight circuits are 12 gauge wire. You can switch/add more 20 amp breakers if needed. You will have to decide if 10 circuits will run the things you need most and how much power they all use. Under stand that you can't use this Transfer Switch with your 50 or 60 amp breakers. This kit comes with the 240 inlet to install inside/outside. You will only need to buy the (4) 10 gauge wires to connect the inlet box to the Transfer Switch.

This kit is only available with a ten foot cord, but longer cords are available separately. Please look at internet no. 202216499 for a 20 foot cord and internet no. 202216500 for a 40 foot cord. Both have lighted receptacles.
Breaker box must be installed indoors unless you purchase the outdoor model. This model does come with an Outdoor plug for the generator to plug into when needed.
As big of generator as you want as long as you stay below the capacity of the cabling. Based on a rating of 30 amps, 7200 W is the max everything would be rated for (240 volts x 30 amps = 7200 watts). If this is the specification equipment was design to, anything more than that could result in damage. That being said if you use a 10000 W generator at 70% load you should be good.
Every connected circuit is interrupted by the individual upper switches. Every circuit is either powered by grid or generator. It cant be both (unless you wire it wrong)
