12 in. 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Chainsaw 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger Included is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Very impressed with this chainsaw. Battery size of 4... Wow. Very impressed with this chainsaw. Battery size of 4 Ahr is great. Oil distributed as it should. Cuts through wood like butter. The overall weight is as heavy as a gas-powered unit, so be prepared.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This chainsaw just keeps going! I was exceptionally happy to receive this chainsaw in the mail. When I unpacked it, I could tell how lightweight and easy to use it would be. I'm a woman with only average upper body strength, so that was important to me. After charging it overnight, I revved it up (very easy, especially compared to gas powered saws) and took it to the junk trees in my back yard. Unlike other chainsaws I've tried, this one went straight through the fairly large branches of my junk trees, like cutting butter. I took down four small trees in about an hour, and there was still a lot of battery left. It's very compact and easy to store, though it does have a certain smell from the chain oil. It's best to keep it in a well ventilated area. Before sampling this product, I had been aware of the Remington name, but had not tried or heard of this particular product before. Now that I am aware of it, I'd buy it again and recommend it to my friends and family who are in need of a good, lightweight chainsaw. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a gas to use electric! We used the saw for tree-trimming with limbs up to 6". I have 3 gas powered chain saws which never seem to start when I need them. First I don't miss the intense workout required to start the gas powered saws; with both arms aching before I even get to work. I have been very reluctant to purchase an electric saw because I thought it would last through two limbs and need a recharge for hours. This is NOT the case. The saw cuts through limbs like butter, thus the duty-cycle is very short per cut. We sawed a trailer-full of limbs and the battery was still at about 50 percent. The balance of the unit is good and it is easy to position. You also get the aroma of new plastic. Sort of like a new car instead of a gas-powered unit smelling like you are behind a 1968 Suburban. All-in-all, I am very surprised and impressed with this saw. Would purchase again; would tell my friends. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Remington Battery Chain Saw I have almost 40 oak trees in different stages of life on my land. This battery chain saw allows me to trim low hanging limbs so I don't get knocked off my tractor while mowing. I like the portability without having to get out the gas and oil and then have to drain it after use so the gas won't mess up the carburetor. This one only needs chain oil. The battery has enough time to trim a tree which is pretty typical for a tank of gas. The chain stretches very quickly on first use and must be tightened or you will end up taking it apart to get the chain back on. It really is not any heavier than a gas chain saw in fact because it is smaller it is a bit lighter. It really cuts well as long as you keep the chain tight and the chain lubricator worked well. You are not going to cut down a forest with the battery life but it was designed for big limb trimming and it does well at that. I most like the portability. I have both gas and electric and they either require an extension cord which won't go far or fresh gas and oil. This battery chain saw eliminates both! Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's compact, has a good weight and is very easy to handle. This is designed very nicely. It's compact, has a good weight and balance to it, and is very easy to handle. The chainsaw arrived well-packaged and included everything needed for out-of-the-box operation with the exception of chain and bar oil. The 40-volt lithium ion battery seems to provide it with ample power. It has plenty of safety features, such as a trigger lockout and a chain brake lever/front hand guard. It came with a very decent cover for the bar and chain when not in use. The Remington Chainsaw comes with a 3-Year Limited Warranty I had never used a cordless electric chain saw before, and I was quite impressed with how smoothly it cut through a tree that had fallen on my property. The tree was about 10 inches in diameter. I also felled two smaller trees, each about 6 inches in diameter. The cutting was effortless, quiet and quick. In all, I used the saw for 45 minutes. The battery was still showing two bars, and the chain tension was still correct. Overall, I think this chainsaw will come in very handy for all of my small wood cutting chores. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid chainsaw capable of big projects The Remington 12" 40 volt chainsaw has been a moneysaver with the large backyard and garden area that I have to manage. Prior to this chainsaw, I have only owned a Ryobi pole saw which I've used to help cut down drooping queen palm branches. That works fine but it has its limitations as it gets heavy to hold up, and the saw is only about 8". I had a diseased peach tree in need of removal and thought for sure that I would have to hire someone. Instead my husband and I decided to undertake this project and I'm happy to report that we were able to get the tree down and out with less effort than we had originally anticipated thanks to the Remington chainsaw. I was surprised because I didn't expect to have as much power come from an electric chainsaw as it did. I did receive this chainsaw for free in return for my honest review, but had I not, I would totally buy this product based on its performance. I wasn't aware of this product prior to using it, and had no experience with the brand, but I'm a believer now! I would recommend it to a person looking for a good value and solid performance. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome saw for a mom! I love that the saw is only 12 inches. It's the perfect length to trim a few bushes, but still long enough to cut down trees. It slices through branches and trunks with no effort at all. The saw itself is a little under 13 pounds. It's light and not training to use. The cordless and push button start makes it easy for me to use without asking my husband for help. The battery and charger is equally awesome. Every other battery I've owned is big and clunky. This one is perfect for it's size. The battery goes on and off the charge without a fight, this is a small detail, but it's aggravating having bigger batteries that get stuck. The one feature I absolutely love is that there is a charging indicator that tells you how full of a charge it is. I have always hated wondering if my items are fully charged before a project and many times have the battery empty before the project has ended due to taking off the battery too soon. Overall, I would definitely get another job next of these so both my husband and I can work on the yard. I also can't wait to try the rest of Remington's line of tools. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good as a trim chainsaw, however, I have a much more powerful battery powered chainsaw. This one ... Good as a trim chainsaw, however, I have a much more powerful battery powered chainsaw. This one cuts well and for trim work the battery lasts fairly well. I was having my wife trim some small one inch branches with this 12 inch chainsaw while I was using another chainsaw for the heavy spring clean up work. The chain was NOT lose, but it jumped on the track anyway. Then it had damaged some of the teeth that fit in the groove of the bar. I ended up spending an hour filing the groove glides down so that they would once again fit in the bar glide. Maybe, it is just a cheap chain and if I had purchased a better quality chain it would last longer, but this problem happened after just five minutes of use. On my other chainsaw, the chain has slipped off more than 20 times and it has never damaged the bar glides.
