Questions & Answers

How much does it weigh? Could a small/medium sized woman use it?

Asked by: Diana
I can't recall the exact weight once filled with gas, but it is around 10 to 12 pounds approximately. I would say yes, a small/medium sized man or woman could easily use this blower. Because it is a backpack that you wear, the weight is evenly distributed across your back and shoulders making the weight more manageable.

Where is the serial number plate?

Asked by: Tyler
It is located by the fuel tank, on the base of the unit. There are a couple little "feet", should be a white sticker. at least thats where mine is

Starts then dies. How to fix this problem

Asked by: Mi
Hello - Please refer to the owners manual on the starting instructions, it is recommended that the engine be given a minute or two to warm up. If the problem persists, we recommend draining the fuel and replacing with fresh gas. Thank you for your question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for home use! This blower is awesome! Because it is a backpack that you wear, the weight is distributed across your back and shoulders so that it becomes more manageable. The gas tank is easy to fill (as a general safety note: just don't be wearing it when it is being filled, keep it on the ground). The engine springs to life very easily when following the unit starting directions that outline the proper process for using the choke and how many times you should need to pull the cord. This blower is very powerful and does a great job of removing grass clippings and fallen leaves from your driveway, porch, and sidewalks. It may not be as fast as the commercial products lawn maintenance companies use, but this is an excellent option for any homeowner who wants to keep their paved areas free of debris. Plus it is really fun to use!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for small jobs This backpack blower is a good tool to have for small jobs such as blowing grass clippings off a driveway or for blowing sand off a sidewalk, but is not meant for heavy duty work like blowing out gutters or moving clumps of heavy wet leaves. One nice feature is that it some with the oil you will need to mix with the gasoline. The joystick controls are great and very comfortable to use. Overall a nice light blower for small jobs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective Having never used a backpack blower before (my previous property was small enough that 2 extension cords could power my leaf blower across the whole thing), I started out owning this Remington Slinger 2-cycle Backpack Blower with great excitement. Putting the leaf blower together out of the box is fairly easy, with good instructions included -- it took me only about 10 minutes to unpack and assemble the whole thing. I appreciated that a bottle of oil was included so all I had to get was the fuel and fuel stabilizer before cranking it up. The backpack is comfortable for me to wear thanks to its relatively lightweight construction and padded shoulder straps. One of my bigger concerns going into this was that the throttle grip would be located in an uncomfortable position for my body, but it's actually perfectly positioned for me. I also really like the cruise control feature, which allows me to get the blower to a "speed" I want and then release the throttle trigger while the blower keeps blowing. The machine is loud, but that's what I expect from a 2-stage engine hanging on my back; so, I wear ear protection and it's no big deal. Also, my wife's dad has an old backpack blower that he used while she was growing up, and she tells me that this blower is significantly quieter than that one. I've been using this blower to clear grass clippings and small leaves from my property, and, so far, I'm still really happy with its performance. I admit, though, that the *real* test for this blower will come when the leaves start piling up in the fall, but I'm hopeful that it'll continue to perform this well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic little blower When I got this through the Seeds program I originally thought big, landscaping company style backpack blower. With that expectation I could understand some of these reviews. Instead, this is a hand unit motor, but mounted on your back for ease of use with a cool joystick control. Assembly: Takes no time at all. Slide two hoses together, tighten a hose clamp, twist two hose extensions on and you're ready for gas (first oil mix included!). Startup directions are on the side and it started easily. Use: I use blowers on a regular basis to blow off a motorcycle training range. This backpack blower meets or exceeds the power of all the handheld units I've used before. After blowing off a 340' x 100' range a backpack mount is a blessing. Around the house it had no problems blower out old holly leaves and grass clippings. Overall I liked it - but if I was expecting a professional style backpack blower - I'd be disappointed

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy Start But Underpowered This blower gets some things right, but also misses the mark in a couple areas. We’ll start with the pros - it’s easy to start. It fired right up out of the box and has continued to start easily. Getting my old backpack blower to start was always a struggle, so that’s a huge improvement. It’s also comfortable to wear. The straps are padded, so it sits well. Lastly, the cruise control is a convenient feature so you don’t have to worry about your hand getting tired during extended use. Now, onto the cons. My biggest complaint with this blower is that it’s a little underpowered. It doesn’t have any problem moving dry stuff, but past that it struggles. I’ve got a handheld blower that absolutely outperforms this one in terms of power. My second complaint is that the arm should really be more flexible. It's difficult to move it at some angles. So, in summary, there's nothing really wrong with this blower, just things that could be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remington 2 cycle Gas Backpack Blower I am really happy with this backpack blower. It was easy to assemble, just follow the instructions to put the blower tubes together, you have to turn them until they snap into place. The blower has been easy to start, it has instructions for starting it right on the blower for the procedure to start it. The starter string is relatively short, so it's easy to pull for women who have a shorter arm span, and have difficulty starting gas powered equipment, I haven't experienced any problems so far. The blower is relatively lightweight, and is easy to put on and carry on your back, and operate the blow tube, and control the air flow with the trigger handle. I use it mostly for blowing grass clippings and neatening everything up after I mow and use the power trimmer and for blowing dust and dead plant material that collects in the corners on the porch and deck. The air flow seems sufficient enough to me, to do what I use it for around the yard, and I have rocks around my bushes, and a gravel drive way, and it's not so strong that it blows out everything in it's path that you don't really want to disturb, and with the right angle, I'm able to blow the grass clippings off the gravel driveway without blowing the gravel away also. I've used other blowers before which were way too strong, and was overkill for home use. I like the backpack feature, that it's easy to move around with it, and you don't have to carry the weight of the blower in your hand. It doesn't seem overly loud for power equipment. I would recommend using eye protection while operating, to keep debris from flying in your eyes and if you are sensitive to noise, then some ear protection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected Stronger/More Power from a Gas Blower Maybe I was expecting too much from a blower. This unit will only be effective on very dry leaves or loose grass clipping. Did it move small chunks of clay dirt? Nope. Could you use it to help clean out the gutters? Nope. It was not effective for that. For the power output, I think it was average. I would be more inclined to get an electrical blower at this power level. This gas blower was hard for me to start. then you have the fumes and smells by your head from the gas itself. I would expect having to deal with gas to get a more powerful unit compared to electric, but it did not appear to be the case. The blower was so loud. Ear protection is required here. It felt like there was a 747 by my head. It also looked like from the online picture that the hose would be more flexible than it actually was. We had a hard time moving it around as it was fairly stiff.
