20 in. 46 cc 2-Cycle Gas Chainsaw with Carry Case is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I Have had a large wooded area to clean up so I ordered one of these Remington outlaws and I'm not feeling this Saw here are the issues #1 The case arrived with a large crack in it where the chainsaw handle had slid back in transit and smashed into it so I contacted Home Depot and they sent out a replacement case the problem is the replacement case was broken even worse than the first one. it just isn't a good design the saw can move around in transit and smash into the case. plus the case is heavy it weights as much as the saw no joke! #2 This "20-inch" bar and chain is a skip link chain which is not acceptable a true 20 inch saw shouldn't have a skip link chain this is no better than a 16 inch chainsaw the only reason it has a skip link chain is because the power head is to weak to run a 20 inch bar and chain. I get that this isn't a Stihl, Husqvarna or even Echo but for $200 I kind of expected more save the money and go buy a real Chainsaw 2 out of 5 stars unhappy!

This was a great saw until the air filter got clogged after an hour of use. I took it off to clean in and noticed a lot of very fine dust coating the carburetor. Cleaned it as best I could and the saw ran great for another half our. The filter was clogged again. The run time between cleaning got shorter each time. I finally removed the air cleaner all together so I could finish the job and the saw ran great. A very poorly designed air filter system that clogs too easily and doesn't filter very well either.

When I got done and set the saw down for awhile, there was bar oil pooled underneath. The only other saw I’ve owned didn’t do that and I haven’t researched to see if it’s normal or an adjustment can be made. Great for the price so far

This Remington "Outlaw" chainsaw may not be the most powerful chainsaw I have used in my career, but it is the cleanest burning. The 20" bar does the job driven by the 46cc power plant. I know the new chain is a big part of the power this saw has shown. I have had no issues with this saw after getting through its first cord of wood. The 46cc engine is just as loud as any other 2 cycle powered saw I have used. This is a powerful enough chain saw to get through 33 inch diameter wood. And before you ask a 20 inch chain bar does not cut through 33 in material without moving the saw around the wood while cutting it. The saw never lugged down as it cut the cord of wood. The chips from this saw flew over the entire area just as any chain saw does. You still need your googles and ear protection as with any wood cutting saw. The Remington RM4620 does a good job cutting through either your cleanup or wood yard preparation for winter. You will see the wood piles cutting down as fast as you can put this saw through the stacks of wood.

I bought one of these because I had a smaller Remington back in the early 80's and loved it; but this one did not have the power it should and ran like half speed. . . so I returned it and got another one to replace it. . .it worked good for about 3 or 4 hours, then starting acting up just like the first one. . .so I returned it also. . .and now I have ordered a Ryobi. . .I am hoping that works better as I have several of their 18 volt Cordless tools and like them a lot. . . .we will see.

I have just received the Remington Model RM4620 OUTLAW 46cc 2-Cycle 20 inch Bar Gas Chainsaw. [Wow! What a mouth full to describe.] I have used several different sized Remington Chainsaws in the recent past, as well as other brands. Most were nice saws, however: this one felt good in my hands when I picked it up. It has some HEFT to it and good balance. (I have a number of 'SIDE JOBS' lined up that will allow me to have some real fun with this one.) I have tried it out already and it performed very well based on my earlier experiences to date. I expect to get used to this 20 inch bar and with a little 'break in time' it could be the best I've worked with. It has all the modern features of the better saws and then some. Having had the previous Remington experience,,this should be a great one. I would recommend the Remington Chainsaws to compare them to others in this class. Be SAFE with this, and any saw, it is not a TOY. PapaBear1

Bought it to cut and section logs for bowl blanks from 12" to 18" diameter logs of virtually any wood species. Have used it on green ash, mountain ash and pine logs thus far. The saw handled each species well. Plenty of power. After initial starting procedure, the saw starts readily with just two or three pulls. Followed instructions for initial start and it started more or less as instructions indicated it would.

A chainsaw with a 20 inch bar is extremely useful for trimming and sawing large logs. I cut about 8 pick-up loads of wood yearly and this saw should provide me many years of use only using it that much. The saw vibrates a little more than my old Stihl saw but still isn’t to bad. The saw starts pretty easy if you follow the direction on the handle. The saw has an Oregon and they are one of the leaders in the industry. The saw comes with a carrying case, bar cover, chain wrench, and enough 2 cycle oil to make up 1 gallon of gas mixed at 40:1. I took the chain off to see how easy it was to re-install and it is pretty difficult to install compared to other saws I’ve ran. The replacement bar and chain part numbers are illustrated on the side of the saw. RM20SH78 is the replacement bar and RMH78 is the replacement chain.
