The Remington 55cc 2-Cycle engine delivers powerful performance. Take on your next yard challenge with the 20 in. bar and chain equipped with large gripping spikes and low kickback chain to safely get the job done. The Spring Assist Starting Technology reduces starting effort and the anti-vibration handles decreases user fatigue.
55cc 2-cycle engine provides power for felling trees, cutting firewood and cutting yard debris
Spring assist starting technology makes starting easier
Inertia chain brake helps prevent kickback
Anti-vibration handle provides comfortable operation to the user
Automatic oiler provides consistent lubrication to the bar and chain while the saw is running
Sprocket tip bar increases the RPM of the chain and decreases bar wear
This is a heavy-duty chain saw. It's also quite heavy and more than you need for trimming branches or taking down small trees. You can depend on this chain saw for stability when taking down bigger trees.
The carrying case is nice so that you can keep everything you need in one place. The case comes with a cover for the chain too. This makes it easier to store any place without worrying if the chain saw will get damaged or something else will damage it.
Compared to other 55cc class chainsaws, this one is on the weaker side.
However, dollar for dollar you are getting more that what you pay for in my opinion. You can pay 3 times more for a 40cc series with the same power
Please see my video to see the saw bogging down with moderately aggressive use and smooth easy cuts with conservative use.
If you are patient, and "let the saw do the work" you will be very pleased with this unit
As soon as you get aggressive and start to demand more, the saw boggs down and may even stop.
Following directions, initial start up took a few dozen pulls, however, once it started I have yet to pull it more than once from that point on.
A few pros:
-The saw is balanced well and I am comfortable with the weight
-The chain is quality and threw large chips
-Case and tools included
-Vibration is low if any-very smooth controlled operation
A few cons:
-As mentioned before, the power is lacking for a 55cc
-Handle on pull start
-The pull start is not responsive enough. I have to pull the cord over 12" before the engine starts to turn. The cord is also much longer than most saws I've used, making drop starting challenging and well as ground starting
-The bar oil reservoir leaves a puddle in my case and I have yet to discover where it is coming from
I do cut my own wood every season and it's good to have a dependable chainsaw that will start every time .

Good machine for the value
The engine is a bit week, but a perfect saw for the price I paid.

Works great for small jobs
I have used this to cut down a few small trees and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. The case is nice and compact for carrying and holding extra bottles of oil and bar chain oil in. I like the quick start guide that come with the saw. It gets you going in no time. I dose seem to be a little finicky every once in a while but I think that's the case for most gas power tools. If you are looking for a chainsaw to get small jobs done, I would recommend this product.
It is solid, and well-balanced. The 50cc engine was a great buy for the price. A lot of extra features, like the easy pull start, the carrying case that turns easily into a tool box if desired, grease locations on bar, and much more. I look forward to many years of enjoyment with this saw.

3 or 4 Stars?
This chainsaw is between 3 and 4 stars in my opinion. First I thought I would give it 3 stars but then changed it to 4 stars because if you follow the instructions for startup, use, and long term care, you should be in good shape.
1. 20in. bar length
2. 55cc engine provided enough power to cut a 14" tree and several 6" to 10" branches
3. Comes with carry case and chain cover
4. Value. The price is very reasonable and the homeowner who needs a large chainsaw every once in a while does not need to spend $400 for a better brand.
1. Initial startup is not easy unless you follow instructions.
2. Not as powerful as the more expensive brands.
Again, as I said this chainsaw is only good recommended for those who are patient and willing to follow instructions. I was able to use it although I'm not an professional, but I've used other more expensive brands in the past. Since the price is reasonable and the instructions are clear I decided to give it benefit of the doubt and therefore 4 stars instead of 3.
Good Saw but there are a couple of things you must pay attention to while using this too.
1) To start the saw you must follow the directions, every time. I used a fresh gas and follow the directions and it starts right up. Of course if the saw is hot it will start on one pull
2) Keep the chain tight. I found that if you leave the saw on the ground and place the blade on a 3"-4" log works best.
3) Be careful as the saw dust will clog the guts after 1/2 hour or so of use.
4) Keep the gas tank above 1/3 of a tank. Failure to do so will have you following the starting instructions once you tip the saw.
5) Good saw for cleaning up minor projects in your yard. I would not recommend if you make your living dropping trees.
Overall not a bad saw for the price. As with anything in life you must, again you must read the instructions on how to start and maintain this saw. Your life will be a lot simpler.
This saw has a different technique to start and after multiple attempts over a few days, it would not start. Gave up on this thing returned it and bought a Echo.
