A:  John, You are correct. The lights are on the 31.5" side of the mirror and it should be hung only vertically. We're sorry for the confusion and we are working with Home Depot to correct the information on the website. - The Renin Team

I really love this mirror. I'm in the process of renovating our bathroom and this was EXACTLY what I was looking for, though I got it sooner than the beginning of the project but I couldn't wait. First, the mirror is well packaged- no damage in transit. Second, the mounting is VERY easy; four screws in the wall and make the electrical connections. Done. The instructions use pictographs so be prepared for that. I had studs to mount mine to but I would recommend using heavy duty anchors. The wiring connection's colors are not standard but they are marked. The light is bright but also dimmable. The bluetooth connection is good and the speaker quality is good, though I suspect a lot of the sound quality complaints have a lot to do with the acoustics of the room. Our mirror is mounted just below where the roof pitches so there is some blunting of the sound, helping to produce a bassier sound than some complained of. I'm happy with this mirror but would have liked one improvement: an included mirror heater. Since you're running 110 V to the unit, why not include a heated mirror pad to prevent fogging? All in all: a great purchase.

The Symphony Bluetooth hardwired LED mirror looks fairly good on the wall. Pros: LED lighting, unfortunately that is the only pro. Cons: The led light is not very bright, the Bluetooth sound is mediocre at best and the mirror has no type of anti-fog heater. The mirror comes with a wire to hook it up but its only about 20" long-which is way too short to reach any nearby power source. There is an on/off switch bluetooth on/off switch and volume up/down switch built into the mirror glass. In my opinion this mirror is way overpriced for the quality and features. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this mirror unless it receives some major improvements.

Initial viewing: When I first opened the box, I was impressed with the way they packaged the unit. It was snuggly fitted between custom cut layers of foam so that there wasn’t any chance of it moving within the package. In addition to the padding, it was secured in a plastic bag that was tapped shut. The glass work is all precisely cut and the edges are all smooth and finely finished. The metal housing that contains the wiring and electronics, has a clean durable paint, like an enamel. Inspection: I performed a quick test, using screwed down couplings and a standard lamp cord to make sure the electronics were in working order, and it passed without any signs of a problem. The touch switch in the lower center of the glass panel functioned perfectly. Because they use a beveled gravity catch to anchor the mirror to the housing, you need to undo the single fastening screw on the bottom edge of the unit, then slide the mirror towards the top, before lifting it off the housing. The gravity catch proved very handy when mounting the mirror later. Checking inside the unit, I found the mounting screws and the level. The catches holding the wire couplings together, come apart without any difficulty, and there is nice grommet protecting the wire lead where it passes thru the metal housing. Installation: I placed this unit in a half bath, over the sink. To do this, I first had to run a 12/2 romex line from the load side of the GFCI outlet in the room, down under the floor, and back up to a box 21 inches above the sink. That gives the unit 7 inches clearance above the sink. FIRST, I SHUT OFF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER AND TESTED THE LINE, BEFORE DOING ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL WORK. IF YOU ARE NOT COMPFORTABLE DOING THE ELECTRIC WORK YOURSELF, HIRE A PROFESSIONAL. Taking just the back-mounting assembly I placed that on a 7 ¾” block (the ¾” is needed to account for the overhang between the mounting assembly and the mirror) on top of the sink backing and placed the mounting assembly on top of that. Using a magnetic torpedo level, I positioned the mounting assembly and marked the positions of the screw holes. I then predrilled the holes for the anchors and tapped them into place. Next, I attached, and capped, the leads from the mounting assembly to the 12/2 electrical cable, the one tagged “L” went to the black 12/2, the one tagged “N” went to the white 12/2, and the one tagged “G” went to the copper ground. As I lifted the mounting assembly up to the wall I pulled the extra lead wire into the assembly, rather than trying to fit it into the electrical box. I then fastened the assembly to the wall using the mounting screws. The next step of placing the mirror onto the mounting assembly requires two people, one to lift the mirror, the other to snap the cables back together and tape the extra wire to the back of the mounting assembly. You need to tape the wires to prevent them from falling out of the box or falling into line with the LED area of the mirror, where they can then be seen thru the LED. Once you let the mirror down and the beveled gravity catch has taken hold, you can test the unit. If it passes the test, you can put the fastening screw back in place on the bottom of the unit. SEE PICTURES Summary: Because installing this unit involves pulling wires and, more than likely a GFCI outlet, most people should have the unit professionally installed, but, if you have the knowledge, tools and time, go for it. I found the lighting, for what it is designed for, to be excellent, it is an great for grooming, because it eliminates any shadows. It is stylish, well made and EASY to use. Two of these in a dual sink master bath would be excellent. This should be used in a well-ventilated bath, because the manufacture’s guide states: “Be careful not to allow the edges of the mirror to get or remain wet over a period of time.” Just one humorous note, my significant other, couldn’t operate the light because her hands were too cold, what do they say “cold hands warm heart” ;-)

What a great bluetooth-connected mirror! We got this for our bedroom bathroom, and it looks great on the wall. We really enjoy the mirror so far, especially the built-in LED lighting and bluetooth connectivity. Gone are the days of simple mirrors...this mirror looks and works great, and so far we are really quite happy with it. I would recommend to a friend!

We are updating our entryway and wanted a mirror and lighting to brighten up the area. HD has such an incredible selection of mirrors and lighting options it took a while to come up with the perfect solution. We opted for the Modena hardwired LED illuminated mirror. It is heavy, coming at a little more than 23 pounds so it is best to get the wiring and mounts in place before you hang the mirror. The unit is sturdy and looks great on the wall. The lighting adds a safety feature doubling as a night light. I like he fact that it is very sturdy and attractive. I am very happy with our selection.
