(What's this)
I'I've always wanted to take my outdoor decorative lighting "off grid", much of is is already solar, but I've found I need to replace some of the lighting every couple of years as the batteries no longer hold a charge. Most of that lighting is 5V and has a 3w to 5w standalone panels. Well my plan is to add a 100w panel and and small power station 5v,12v & 120v so that I can power some drip lights, flood lights (LED) and many of the stand alone led lights. I plan to use low voltage wiring for 5v & 12v lights. And just move my existing outdoor extension cords to connect to my power station. I'm using two of the Renogy 20 extension cables to connect my power station to my solar panel. My 100w panel should recharge the station in 4-5h in full sun; double that when it's cloudy. The Renogy cables have the standard MC-4 connectors on both ends (male and female) that are now the common connector in the solar industry. The 10awg for a single panel 100w, panel is over kill, but I might extend the number of panels I'm using in the future, and I wanted a big enough gauge to handle larger loads. That makes this double insulated cable more expensive, but to keep solar efficiencies as high as possible you should always go with the largest gauge possible. As you can see I used a flexible solar panel, and made a PVC frame for it, I wanted the flexibility to move it in the future, as it's adjacent to a tree which may cast too much shade in the future, and if I expand the system I will need to relocate the panel. The construction of the Renogy cable is exceptional. Other cables have thinner skins, but this cable has two strong exterior layers protecting the inner wire. The connectors ar water tight (mine are under my roof line), tacked to the 8" facing, very well protected. My power station is currently about 18' from the solar panel. The Renogy cables are fairly stiff, especially when cool, as the sun hits them they get more flexible. The were very easy to work with and met my needs perfectly. Keep in mind that that this package only includes a single cable, you will ALWAYS need 2 as a true extension. But the length of wire from the positive and negative side of you panels will differ, which is why the extensions are not 2 cables tied together. Having them seperate give you the flexibility to 'neaten' your wiring at either end, in my case I wanted this inside my shed, not by the solar panel(s). Anyhow, when I started researching this I thought I wanted two cables tied together, but what I really needed was the cables separate; this will very based on how your panel(s) are wired/located. Andd if you have multiple solar they are run serial or parallel, increasing the distance between the positive and negative ends of the cables. In any case this is a very well made solar extension cable, it should serve my needs for many years, and it allows for my future expansion without changing the extensions out. Perfect for my needs.

(What's this)
I used these cables with MC4 connectors to run from solar panels on the roof, to charge controller, inside the building. I have used Renogy products before and they are high quality cables. The cables are 10 awg with standard MC4 connections. They are flexible enough to make bends as shown in the photos, and the connectors are very easy to work with. They connect solidly and have never had a problem with connectors of this style from this Company. Highly recommend....

(What's this)
This extension cable is exactly what I needed to run between the solar panel on the roof of my travel trailer and the MPPT charge controller located inside. The MC4 connectors pair up perfectly with the MC4 connectors on my Renogy panel with a nice secure click and have color coded bands near the fitting for easy identification. This 10AWG cable is TUV 2PfG 1169 meaning it is true photovoltaic cable that is UV resistant and can withstand being used in the elements and meant for solar applications. The end opposite from the partially stripped and ready for connection to the charge controller, which is a nice touch. Overall, these appear to be nice high quality cables and connectors and should get many years of service from them.
