Questions & Answers

Does the full manufacturer warranty still transfer if I buy through Home Depot? How does that work?

Asked by Joe January 12, 2021

Hi Joe, Thank you for sending your inquiry. For the first 30-days, Home Depot will be our first point of contact for any return or replacement. However, after the 30days policy Renogy will take over the manufacturer warranty by following the standard process if the item requires troubleshooting. This warranty extends only to the original Purchaser. If gifted or resold the customer must go through the original Purchaser in order to claim a warranty. Original order information is needed to claim the warranty. If the original order was shipped within the US, the Purchaser will be responsible for additional shipping costs out of the US. The Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy and the entire liability of the Warrantor, its suppliers, and affiliates for breach of the warranty is, either to replace the PV module(s) or component parts of the PV module(s) and in some cases refund the PV module(s) cost. This warranty does not cover labor. PV modules or components that have been serviced or replaced under their warranty period do not receive extended warranties. Instead, the serviced/replaced PV module(s) will abide by the original warranty period issued when first purchased. No employee, agent, dealer, or any other person is authorized to give any warranties on behalf of the Warrantor, not expressly set forth in this limited warranty. Have a great day.

Would I still need an inverter ? For my RV 12volt system?

Asked by RVoffgrid November 2, 2020

I believe so. I use the inverter that is already installed for my 100 watts rooftop RV.

can i get this without the charge controller?

Asked by rob September 30, 2020

Yes. But I don't understand why it is much, much more expensive when sold without the Controller.

just bought the renogy 200w voyager . Is it weather proof.

Asked by dick July 21, 2020

Hi, The Voyager charge controller is weatherproof and can be left out in the elements. Please contact us if you have any other questions, have a wonderful day.

Great Foldable Solar Panel Suitcase 200W
Being brand new to solar I bought this with a 1000 watt Renogy inverter and bought a 12V battery and have been using it every night to power up some led lights for my dog at night in the basement. It works very well, panels constantly charge the battery in the daytime and provide nice power for light items like led lights, and small appliances etc..Very happy with the system, its very cool and the panels are well made and put out nice power off the grid! I am able to leave an led light bar on along with 2 other led light bulbs all night with no problems..

I already had a 100 watt rooftop RV solar panel which was not producing enough voltage to run our RV TV on cloudy days. Adding 200 watts provides enough power to run our TV on cloudy days (voltage holding around 12.8). On sunny days in Florida winter, 300 total watts tops out our (2) 12 volt batteries while watchingTV (meter reading = full). Suitcase is heavy (around 35 pounds), but so far I can carry it (74 years young). Minor problem was R4 connectors were backwards so red wire could only connect to black wire of battery clamp. In consultation with Renogy, I reversed the wires at the Controller, so I screwed black wire into it's positive terminal. In summary, I would recommend this product.
Great Power Option for my RV
I previously (Sept 2020) bought two of these portable Renogy 200 watt suitcase panels, two 100 amp Lithium batteries a 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter for my 5th wheel. I chose these portable panels to allow parking the RV in the shade and place the panels in the sun with the additional benefit of relocating the panels as the sun moves to maintain the best solar efficiency (easier to move than the RV). Prior to purchase I knew the panels would weigh about the same as a 5 gal can of gas, so I can't give a negative comment on the weight if properly researched. I have since bought another Renogy 200 watt suitcase and two additional Lithium batteries (December2020). To provide extended distance for these panels from the RV, I bought some 2 gauge AWG and 4 gauge AWG wire for a 30' extension (to minimize electrical line loss). I get up to 12 amp per solar suitcase = 36 amp charge rate. I can now connect a 30 amp, 120 v extension cord from my inverter into the RV shore power connection to power all the RV 120 v receptacles. This allows me to operate everything in the RV except my 2 A/C units (my onboard 5.5 kw generator takes care of this infrequent option). I can not justify all this from a cost perspective, but the convenience of this when dry camping is extremely enjoyable.

Well built. Works great
I purchased mine for my RV. We mostly boondock in the National Forests. Charges 2 6 volt batteries in no time at all. Easy to set up and hook up.

200 Watt suitcase Solar Panel.
Works great. Simply connect to your battery and it starts charging. I now have on order a 1000 watt Renogy inverter and 2 US 235 ah 6 volt batteries to complete my system in my RV. Battery monitor is next.
