Hi! A 400 watt 12-volt polycrystalline solar starter kit system will produce 100 amp hours per day in optimum conditions. The wanderer controller featured in this kit is designed to charge one battery bank. If you want to charge two separate battery banks, you can connect them in parallel, and this will allow the charge controller to simultaneously charge both battery banks. However, you may use our solar system to maintain a starting battery and the rated CCA of the battery will not damage the controller. A Renogy 100-watt solar panel will produce approximately 5.29 Direct Current amps per hour, under optimum conditions. This will translate to about 25-30 D/C amp hours being produced per day. With a 300-watt solar system you will be producing about 90 amp hours per day. Please keep in mind that if you will be powering A/C loads it is important to take the rated watts of each load and divide it by the operational voltage of your battery bank. For example, a 200-watt A/C load divided by 12-volts equals an hourly amperage consumption of 16-17 amps per hour. You can now take the amperage consumption (16-17 amps) and multiply it by your load's approximate run-time and this will equal the necessary amount of amp hours. 17 amps multiplied by a run-time of 2 hours equals 34 amp-hours. The kit was missing half of the mounting brackets and there was no instillation manual or instructions. I had to go to Renogy website for install info. Seems to be working just fine after figuring out how to put them together.
