Product Overview

Repellex USA is proud to introduce our new systemic animal repellent to the market. This exclusive breakthrough technology allows capsaicin (hot pepper) to be absorbed into the plant by simply planting a tablet next to a growing plants root system. Once the repellent is absorbed over 7-30 days, the repellent will stay active for up to one whole year. Since the repellent is internally treating the plant, it will not wash off in the rain like traditional repellents do over time. This repellent is labeled and approved for repelling: deer, rabbits, moles, voles, gophers, groundhogs, dogs, cats and feral hogs. During the initial uptake time it is recommended to apply Repellex Original Deer and Rabbit Repellent to treat unprotected foliage while the systemic repellent is absorbed and reaching an effect repellency level. This repellent is not intended on food or feed crops. Avoid contact of pesticide with roots, foliage, stems and fruits of all crops intended for consumption because unpleasant taste will result. One 150 count bottle of Repellex Systemic Tablets will treat approximately 75-120 plants 12 in. tall. The number of tablets needed to treat a plant varies by height and width. Apply 1 tablet for every foot of plant height and width (height +width). Application amounts may vary by plant type and growth rate. In season reapplications may be necessary with very fast growing plants.
  • New systemic animal repellent technology
  • Easy to apply application last up to one year once active
  • Active ingredient capsaicin (hot pepper) makes plants tastes
  • No mess or bad smell when applied
  • Rainproof, goes inside plant and cannot wash off
  • For use on flowers and ornamentals
  • This product is applicable for the following pest types: Deer, Rabbits, Moles, Gophers, Voles, Cats, Dogs

Answer

Yes, as long as the tree is starting to bud, you know it's growing. Bigger the tree the more tablets you're going to need. Overdo the treatment rather than under do it. You won't hurt anything. Call our 800 number for more information and to talk to a live specialist/adviser.

Answer

Yes, make a hole with a stick or a widger, so that you can drop the tablet into the ground. You need to be about 2 - 3 inches down. For a plant that is this size you'll need about 8 tablets. You really need to think about how big the plant will get during the growing season. Rule of thumb is width plus height in feet, add the 2 numbers and then add a tablet for good measure. In your case 4.5 + 2.5 = 7 plus one = 8. Finally plants need to be growing in order to be able to absorb the active ingredient.

How many tablets do I need for one bush?

Asked by Marina September 15, 2019

Answers

It depends on the size of the bush. The general rule of thumb is to add the width and the height of the bush in feet together and then add one. So if the bush is 2' across and 2' feet high, when fully grown during the season, you'd add 5 tablets. It's better to over do it, than under do it. You won't harm anything.

Answer

The capsicum will wear off over time. You could use it but don't eat any fruit for a couple of years. The capsicum is food grade, so it will taint the apples, even if you do eat them it won't hurt you, they'll just taste peppery.

What are the other inert ingredients? Is it organic certified?

Asked by Jboy October 18, 2018

Answer

No, it is not organic certified.

Repellex works by flavoring the plants so the animals don't like to eat them. Works great on plants you don't intend to eat.

Has anyone tried this on Tulips?

Asked by Lolly May 24, 2018

Answer

You'll need to put a tablet under the bulb when you plant, and then add some of the granular systemic around the tulip, as soon as you see them emerge from the ground in the spring. It works!!

We have a granular version of this product that you could use, but you'd be better of using the Mole and Gopher repellent we make. It works by changing the way the food (worms and grubs moles eat) tastes to them. Call our 800 number and ask for some additional information

This product seems to work very well. Before we used it, the deer chewed all the leaves off our holly bushes. After one application, the bushes grew back, but after some time - probably six months or so - the deer attacked them again. We applied the tablets again, and they have not touched them. We will be sure to apply the pellets every six months as recommended.

EXCELLENT product at deterring deer and rabbits from munching on perennials and small shrubs in your yard and garden. You may experience a small amount of browse at first, but as the animals taste the plants after the product has been systemically absorbed through the roots, they will stop and move on to other items. Takes a few weeks for the product to be absorbed, but is easy to apply - basically push the tablet into the ground next to the plant or dig a small hole adjacent to it and cover with soil. Have tried everything under the sun and this product by far exceeds all others.

Repellex is a systemic applied in the Spring just as plant growth emerges, so if I hadn’t used it in past years, I would not be able to rate it. However, when used as directed, it will keep deer and other nibblers from consuming all decorative plantings, including shrubs and small trees. Because it is a systemic, absorbed by the plant, one applications covers one growing season.

Still waiting to see if it works on this property, lots of deer, that in the past ruined the shrubs I treated. I got the material in the soil early enough for it to work, no deer yet, but then they are not in a food shortage this early in the season. If you check back, I may have more news at later.

I first purchased this last spring and used it as instructed. I've had no damage to my plants from deer since then so I assume it's working. They did devour two bushes that I didn't treat. I'm retreating them this spring.

Bought this product to repel Gophers due to all the excellent reviews online. It's been well over 1 month and a half and we've seen no results. In addition to purchasing all the vibrating spikes to put around as a deterrent, we put 8 tablets around each of our 4 foot willow bushes. We have had more activity than in years past, with two to three new gopher holes emerging daily around each small Willow . And two of The Willows of our 12 have had the roots completely eaten off by the Gophers. This product has not repelled them at all.

The label and directions which you can’t read until you open the package , and can’t return . I.. the label says it is for MOLES .. but the tablets are really made to be absorbed by roots of plants and trees, this will have no effect on moles because they do not bother with plants!

Some kind of animal was eating my flowers this Spring, I am guessing either a rabbit or deer. I have used the spray deer repellent in the past but you need to reapply each time it rains. For each flower I dug a tiny hole about 2" deep and 1" away from the plant stem, placed a tablet in the hole and covered it up with soil. I watered the flowers and within a week my flowers began to grow again. Now they're flowering and look beautiful. This product is absorbed into the plant, only needs to be applied once a year, and seems to be non-toxic. I was skeptical but now I am a believer, Thank You Repellex!
