Systemic Animal Repellent Tablets (50-Count)

$1635

Product Overview

Repellex USA is proud to introduce our new systemic animal repellent to the market. This exclusive breakthrough technology allows capsaicin (hot pepper) to be absorbed into the plant by simply planting a tablet next to a growing plants root system. Once the repellent is absorbed over 7-30 days, the repellent will stay active for up to one whole year. Since the repellent is internally treating the plant, it will not wash off in the rain like traditional repellents do over time. This repellent is labeled and approved for repelling: deer, rabbits, moles, voles, gophers, groundhogs, dogs, cats and feral hogs. During the initial uptake time it is recommended to apply Repellex Original Deer and Rabbit Repellent to treat unprotected foliage while the systemic repellent is absorbed and reaching an effect repellency level. Note: This repellent is not intended on food or feed crops. Avoid contact of pesticide with roots, foliage, stems and fruits of all crops intended for consumption because unpleasant taste will result. One 50 count bottle of Repellex Systemic Tablets will treat approximately 25-40 plants 12 in. tall. The number of tablets needed to treat a plant varies by height and width. Apply 1 tablet for every foot of plant height and width (height + width). Application amounts may vary by plant type and growth rate. In season reapplications may be necessary with very fast growing plants.

I have what appears to be moles in my yard. So far the only damage is in grassy areas of yard. Wo...

Answer

Not really, you would be much better off using our Repellex Mole & Gopher repellent. It's a granular product and easy to apply. You need to thoroughly apply to the affected area, and follow the instructions on the bottle. Depending on the size of your yard and how much is affected, you could split it up into 2 or 3 sections and start at one end and work towards the other end. Our products do not kill the moles, it just repels them,. so start at the house and work out towards the perimeter of your yard, or call our 800 number for more help.

Is this safe to use on soil of indoor plants on which my house cat keeps peeing and digging?

Asked by JP8 December 31, 2019

Answer

It's safe to use, but this is not the way the product is designed to be used. These tablets will change the way the plant tastes to animals that like to eat them, it will probably not stop your cat from digging and peeing in the soil around the plant.

Will this work to deter rabbits from eating my tulip plants, and deter squirrels from digging up bulbs?

Asked by MamaE September 26, 2019
1
Answer

It will certainly help. It's best to use about half a scoop of the granular or 1 tablet beneath the bulb as you plant. The little fibrous roots the bulb grows to secure itself to the ground will start to absorb the active ingredient and help to protect the bulb through the winter and into the spring as the tulip grows. Squirrels are hard to deter, but I have talked to other users who say this does help.

Does this product impact pollinators in a negative way at all? Would hummingbirds still come close to the flowers and drink nectar?

Answer

Yes it can, do not use on flowers or vegetable plants. Mike

I have feral cats in the neighborhood. They urinate and dedicate in the flower bed by the door. Is this effective?

Answers

I don't see how the manufacturer response to your question could possibly be accurate since the cats are using your garden as a litter box and, unlike moles or squirrels, will not eat the plants that this product flavors! If you are absolutely sure that none of your neighbors are keeping these cats as outdoor pets, buy a humane trap from a hardware store and call animal control to pick up the cats you catch. Cats that are not being fed (feral) hunt birds and prey upon hatchlings in a nest. Cats are a leading contributor to declining songbird populations and for their own safety and the safety of native species should not be allowed to roam and reproduce. Search Home Depot for a "humane animal trap".

How does this work if you try to keep Dog and Cat of your lawn not plant?

Asked by cktlee July 16, 2018

Answer

It does not work for an entire yard. You would want something that is s[rayed on, not planted.

Does Repellex deter voles & moles too?

Asked by Riley August 12, 2017

Answer

The systemic animal repellent, either tablets or granular will deter Voles, as it changes the way the roots of the plant taste. Probably won't work on moles.

So far, one month after putting these tablets in the ground around my plants, they seem to be working to keep rabbits from eating the leaves. The real test will be in the fall when, with plants dying back, there is less for the rabbits to eat so they go for anything that’s left standing.

No more Deer! Worked like a charm. Simply dig a hole with your finger and drop in a pill. I think it took approximately 5-7 days to take effect. No more ugly sprays that leave a film on my shrubs. Hope it lasts for a year - we'll see.

For 18 winters the rabbits ate the Burning Bushes growing next to our deck. Each Spring the bushes would grow from the ground up. Nothing deterred the rabbits until I started using the Repellex tablets 2 years ago. Now, finally, WE trim the bushes in the Spring - the rabbits don't touch them. It also worked on our rosebushes - previously the rabbits would eat them - thorns & all. Now they leave them alone.
