Our aluminum wire screen is a Strong and durable insect screening that resists rust and will not sag. A protective finish prevents corrosion and strengthens the weave. The Mesh size is : 18 x 16. Our retractable screens are designed with flexibility so if a pet, a child, or an adult walks into the screen inadvertently, the screen will give a little, rather than tear. Our screens are designed to withstand the impact of a pet or other running into the screen. Once the pet or other being withdraws from the screen, the screen will return to its shape. If the impact is extreme and very strong, the screen's flexibility is designed so the screen will provide give and leave the side channel track rather than tear. When the screen does leave its track due to extreme impact it can be easily re-inserted in its appropriate track. As to whether our screen is pet proof... our screen is designed to provide give and flexibility upon a pet impact, this flexibility both protects the screen and protects the being that is in the screen from injury. Our retraction mechanism is designed with a safe slow retraction that will not catch children's fingers, or hurt elderly hands, or pets. As aforementioned the screen is designed with flexibility that will protect the screen and the being impacting the screen. Our RetractableBugScreen TM is designed to minimize damage to screen and to minimize potential injury to pets, children and adults that might impact the screen. Dear Carlos, Thank you for your interest in our product. The 73 x 67 size would be the one to fit a window 55 1/4 inches wide and 44 1/4 inches high. Our size 73 x 67 is adjustable and can fit window or doorway openings whose width is from 55 inches wide up to 73 inches wide - And whose height is from 28 inches high up to 67 inches high. So since your window is 55 1/4 inches wide, you would need the 73 x 67 size that will accomodate your window size. For clarification that our sizes note the MAXIMUM width or height the product can be adjusted to. So for example the 55 x 67 is adjustable to a maximum width of 55 inches. So too short for your 55 1/4 inch application. The 73 x 67 size on the other hand is adjustable from 55 to 73 inches wide, so you would choose that size as your opening is 55 1/4 inches. Dear Cici, Yes Cici, our retractable insect screen can be installed on an interior door, like your sewing room. To give you a more detailed answer, let me note that you need 2 inches of clearance in the top of the doorway frame in order to install the screen. That 2 inches is the space the header needs to be installed in. Even if you do not have the 2 inches of clearance, you can still install it, but in that case you will need the optional frontal kit that will allow you to put the component that holds the retractable insect screen header on the wall adjacent to your doorway opening. For your need to install it for an outside swing door. You would install the screen within the door jamb before the door (the side facing the interior). If you do not have 2 inches of depth in your door jamb to install the retractable screen header, than we sell an optional frontal component, that will allow you to install the retractable insect screen to the wall above and/or adjacent to the interior wall of the door opening.
