This thing is awesome & I'd buy another one if I had a need for it! My only complaint is with the installation instructions. They need a little more detail which is why it took me quite a bit longer to install it than it otherwise would have. (Like marking the bags with what kind of screws it contained would have helped tremendously. And, in my case, providing the installation distance between the mounting brackets would have been very helpful since the space I was installing it in is wider than todays' standard cabinet.) The installation instructions say "45 minutes" but that's misleading. Putting the few pieces of the unit itself together may only take 45 minutes but actually installing it into the cabinet is what's tough due to the tight space (a magnetized screwdriver will be a sanity saver) but that's not a fault of the unit. All in all, this thing is great & ended up being worth the frustration installing it caused. Like I said, I'd buy another one if I had a need for it & I'd already be aware of the few "gotcha's" waiting for me. :)

I was so excited to pet chase this for my kitchen so I can finally reach the top self items. It took me 2 days to install, it worked perfectly while empty. However, as soon as you put anything on either shelf, it makes it too heavy to lift away properly m. Even just 1 small box of pasta. It was a waste of $400 and too much work to install and return after tearing up my cabinet to get it in.

Actually this product was intended to assist with heavy items. We find that many people who have mobility issues or afraid to grab heavy items from top shelves like this. So, actually it does require some weight on it and the gas pistons will assist in the lowering and raising of the shelf. It will hold up to 26lb on the 36" version.

Just what I needed in the kitchen to help keep me in my home. The pull down shelf is easy to use and, most importantly, very accessible. My only complaint is that there isn't more of a selection for differently abled people.
