    Not six inches as stated by others!
    The vent extension when fully installed will add a little more than 2 inches. Maybe if you fitted half way you can extend your vent to 3 inches. The pipe is six inches in length so that's how they will get away with calling it 6 inch vent. Didn't work for me, so I had to return and buy the 12 inch length vent.
