This product does not allow you to do very much or really even monitor what's going on in the water heater. You can set the temperature and you can see a pretty graph of your usage over time that's about it. You can't see any of the sensors or how often it runs on the heater elements or anything truly useful.

It only seems to work when you are at home connected to your wifi. It allows you to adjust the temperature, change it from eco mode to performance mode and records any errors. That's it. I was hoping to get the same info the units panel gives you. I want to see what the upper and lower element are currently reading at.

-Very easy install, easy to set up...just takes minutes.
-you can program vacation mode for your water heater from your phone...turn on or off the water heater immediately or schedule an event for a future time.
-from my phone I can see what temp the water heater is set to, it won't show the actual current temp.
-I've not received an alert for issues, hope not to, but it's comforting to know it enables this function.
I've had the module for about 1 month...no issues yet. It was useful for when we went on vacation.

I love this gadget. It really isn't a luxury, it is a necessity as far as i am concerned. Setup was easy, since it's basically plug-and-play. I had this module connected to my new Rheem water heater, and then paired with my home WiFi, and then linked to my EcoNet account. I really love the overall design and the blue lights which matches the lights on my Rheem water heater. Great work Rheem for making such a fantastic device, and great work Home Depot for helping in bringing this device to me. Keep on the good work!!!!!

Wifi setup was very easy. My issue with the EcoNet adaptor is that it's a $90 interface that gives less information than if you were accessing the touch screen on the hybrid waterheater. It does have an 'Energy Usage' feature but it hasn't worked since day one and EcoNet can't seem to get it working. Not to mention the heater doesn't have a way of actually measuring its energy usage so if it did work the values are just calculated numbers coming from a cloud server. If I hadn't spent the last month back and forth with EcoNet support of the energy usage feature I would have returned it. Only value in having this is if you are using a Nest thermostat which it will connect with and put the system in standby mode if you're not home. Doesn't work with any other thermostat like that.
