This Rheem Marathon Upper-Element Thermostat is specifically designed to be used as the upper thermostat in a Rheem Marathon residential electric water heater. These water heaters often have a "non-simultaneous" design, which means that only 1 heating element is on at any given time. This type of thermostat is for use in 2-element water heaters.

    Q:Will this work on a Bradford White 40 gallon electric hot water heater. The number on my thermostat is 59T 4100. This one says 59T 4195. Can you tell me if there is a difference. The pictures look the same.
