Hi, The Performance Platinum 29 Gal. Tall 60,000 BTU XR90 Induced Draft Natural Gas Water Heater does have an induced draft system, which uses a fan to expel exhaust gases. While it is generally quieter than power vented models, it can still produce some noise during operation. Power vented water heaters are known to be louder due to the more powerful fans they use to push exhaust gases through longer venting systems. The noise level of an induced draft system is typically less intrusive, but it can vary depending on the installation and surrounding environment. If noise is a significant concern, you might want to consider the placement of the water heater and any potential soundproofing measures you can take. Derius
Yes, I know when its running if its running
Hi olddirtyburt and thank you for your question. It can use Category I, double-wall, B-vent
Hi Robert and thank you for your question. This water heater is a Category I -Fanassisted appliance. This water heater must be vented with either three (3) inch or four (4) inch, double wall, Type B vent connectors as shown below. Vent connectors must be securely attached to the inducer outlet to connect the water heater to the gas vent or chimney. The vent connectors must be the same size (diameter) as the inducer outlet or larger, never smaller. For proper venting in certain installations a larger vent connector size may be needed. Consult the Vent Tables in Appendix G of the latest version of the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54). Multi-story and common venting is permitted. Consult the latest version of the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Standard Z223.1/NFPA 54).
Hi George and thank you for your question. for stock availability, please call the local outlet.
IT IS LISTED AS A "ATMOSPHERIC VENT" WATER HEATER. WHICH INCLUDES HIGHER TEMPERATURE EXHAUST, THAN A POWER VENT (PVC VENT) UNIT.

Hi Norm and thank you for your question. Yes it is.
Hi Kartwheel and thank you for your question. Multi-story and common venting is permitted. Consult the latest version of the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Standard Z223.1/NFPA 54).
0.71 uniform energy factor exceeds ENERGY STAR requirements You likely read that already. I can tell you that this heater will recover one gallon/minute because it has a 60,000 b.t.u. burner, 50% larger than standard type heaters. Although it is not a 'power-vented' heater, it does have an induced draft and fan that allows the larger burner to vent thru standard 3" vent pipe--a big plus. The fan that helps the flue gases exit thru a standard 3" vent requires a standard 120 volt outlet Don't try to filling a bathtub with it though, because of the relatively small tank size. On an hourly basis it is on par with a standard 50 gallon gas heater, but only takes up 17.75" in diameter. I have successfully placed these in spots so tight that no other heater could fit, and the performance is OUTSTANDING. Double-check that you have sufficient combustion air availability. I have NEVER had a complaint where I have installed one of these VERY SPECIAL HEATERS!
Thank you for asking, ConfusedJC. This unit is EnergyStar rated, but it is not eligible for the Federal Tax Credit. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 1-866-279-4566. Thank you and have a great day.
Normally that info would show as a link to "REBATE" on the webpage, but no links to rebates are shown for this heater from my local store. I checked, and there are rebates showing for Hybrid Electric water heaters, so I have to assume this may not be linked to a Federal rebate at this time. I think it would be worth checking under a search for "Federal Rebates for water heaters" to see if that would turn up something
Thank you for asking, Bob. This unit is not compatible with our EcoNet System. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 1-866-279-4566. Thank you and have a great day.
ABSOLUTELY NOT (unless something changed since I bought one) It matches all the critera from Rheem, and even has the PLUG for the Econet unit. HOWEVER IS DOES NOT have the electronics to make it work. I spent 6 months chasing after Rheem to get them to do an exchange after their misleading brochure lead me to believe that Econet would work with this. I actually had the UNIT INSTALLED and plugged in the Econet, and ONLY THEN did I discover that it was not supported. So DO NOT BUY this version if you really want Econet Wifi. ( I only bought a Rheem for this feature) As a side note : We replaced a 50 gallon tank with this, and it does hold up to the claims that it is an equivalent unit (it runs much hotter, closer to a tankless) and supplied us with hot water for the entire time we had it installed. It was smaller, and gave us more space in the utility room. The 50 Gallon unit (with the lower temp) is what we ended up getting it replaced with.
