I installed the unit myself. Works excellent. We have a 1900+ square foot house and the furthest faucet gets hot water within ~32 seconds. This is a must have for families with children and adult who don't want ot run out of hot water. The Rheem 9.0 has been in use for 3 months and exceeds expectations. Can't beat endless hot water.

Issues with recirculating line
This system was installed in our new home and we've been living here three weeks. From the mechanical room to the kitchen faucet is approximately 50ft. It is taking approximately two minutes to get warm (not hot) water there. There is a recirculating line installed that is supposed to be circulating hot water on a timed basis. The issue is that there seems to be no hot water flowing through this line. Our plumber has contacted his Rheem rep and was assured that the system is working the way it was designed to work. We feel there is an issue with the temperature sensor location being at the beginning of the line and not the return. The system therefore sends out water when it's called for, but the sensor (at the beginning) senses that the water is hot so stops sending hot water. We are unhappy with the way this system is working and believe there are improvements to be made.

I installed this unit about 6 weeks ago. It replaced a 40 gallon water heater so I had to add intake and exhaust venting. I used a concentric style vent. The install was pretty straight forward but being a do-it-yourselfer, it took a bit longer and a few extra trips to the store for parts.
The Rheem tankless water heater is in the area of the furnace so any noise it may emit is minimal. In fact, I think it's much quieter than what I was expecting after reading some reviews. I bought Rheem because the warranty was not voided by me installing it. Some brands required professional installation or the warranty was void.
It takes about 10-15 seconds more to get the hot water to the spigot, which I suppose is using more water. I have about 75 psi city water pressure. I was concerned a sink spigot wouldn't be enough flow for the unit to kick on but it hasn't failed me yet. Once the hot water arrives, it's without interruption. My son calls it "infinity" hot water.
I had to reroute the water lines and replace a 1/2" gas line with a 3/4" gas line. I used 3/4" copper lines and Shark Bites for my water line connections along with some flex lines. I added a check valve and expansion tank to the cold water side. I also added a service kit to flush the unit periodically. I also have Rheem's EcoNet system that allows me to monitor the tank remotely (temp adjustment, leak within the unit, water and energy use, etc.).
We'll never go back to a tank system. I'm not a plumber (I'm in law enforcement) but I wouldn't hesitate to do this job again. I can't think of any cons to this unit. It was worth it.

We got this water heater so I can free up some space in a garage and we absolutely love it. the only complain and it's not just this particular brand or model, is that if you haven't used the hot water in a while, it takes forever to get the hot water at the sink if you are using efficient faucet (required in state of California). After using it for a while, I will update this review if I run-in to problems. BtW. when/if you purchase it, check your gas utility website for rebates, we are getting $600 from our gas company (SoCal Gas).

Great tankless water heater from Rheem. Got continuous hot water and it pumps out plenty. I installed it myself and was up and running in a few hours. Works with 1/2 inch gas line if need be. The internal recirculation pump is an added bonus especially if you don't want to pipe in to your furthest faucet which may be difficult in a lot of cases. I'm using stainless braided water hoses in a small run for now but will eventually hard pipe it all in.

I switched from a 50 gallon tank water heater to a tankless (RMTGH95DVLN-2 which is exactly ECOH200DVELN-2 model) in July 2019 for my single family house. My experience as a consumer was quite disappointing and we lost a lot of time on debugging. Also the Rheem/Richmond customer service was not helpful and not really solution oriented. I plan to return the unit to the store as it was purchased a few weeks ago and I plan to consider a commercial brand which my contractor recommended and is not available at regular home improvement stores. I hope it would help because I want to stay tankless.
This is my experience:
- A tankless water heater is environment friendly and is the right thing to do.
- It has no thank and there will be no water damage in your house.
- It increase your water consumption and your experience is not as pleasant and practical as with a tank water heater.
- It takes a long time until you have warm water when you open the faucet if you have not used the warm water for the last 1 hour. You will need to let about 1 bucket (2-3 gallons) of water to run until the temperature reaches 100 degree, when the unit setting temp is 120 degree. As a result, you will wash your dishes or your hands with cold water. Your washing machine will not get hot water unless you let the water run first until it is hot.
- You need to open the hot faucet all the way in order for the unit to operate. Otherwise, you will get the error message P1 which means low water flow and the unit will not heat at all.
- It happens that in the middle of washing of your dishes, all the sudden the water becomes cold. This is because the unit requires a high and consistent follow of hot water in order to operate.

Nothing like endless hot water. However this unit seems to be throttling the volume of water from what we where getting prior to install, we had 10.5gpm- now it seems we are only getting about 6.5gpm of hot water (Also the box it came in seem to indicate only volumes of 6.5gpm, but had a sticker that was added stating 9.5gpm - seem a bit of false advertising) - still for the most part its plenty of hot water for 4 showers. Also we had some problems when setting the temperature above 120- the small volume need for warm water at the sink was not sufficient to get the heater to run, but works just fine at lower set temp.
Overall, we've had it for a month and are still please with this purchase.
